A Colorado Springs couple is complaining that U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn left them two threatening voice mails after they wrote a letter criticizing his fundraising.
Jonathan Bartha and Anna Bartha told The Denver Post that Lamborn said there would be "consequences" if they did not withdraw their letter.
Lamborn, in a call to The Associated Press, said he had never intended to threaten anyone and just wanted to warn them that they would embarrass themselves with a false claim that he accepted campaign funds from the gambling industry.

The excerpt doesn’t mention party affiliation. That makes me think he’s probably a Dem...

Nowhere in the story does it mention his political party.
Am I to assume he is a..........Democrat maybe?

D or R? I’m assuming that since his party was not mentioned, he’s a dim.

It’s probably much ado about not that much, though it doesn’t reflect well on Lamborn. I’ve read before that Lamborn is a collosal jerk, though that doesn’t disqualify him from being a Congressman.

Actually, he’s a Republican. I was also expecting him to be a Democrat for the same reason you mentioned.

Nope, Republican. The Denver Post, however, is as biased as a paper can get so one has to realize what is printed there may not be the whole truth or fairly reported.
To: Oberon
Then again, the two people complaining about a repubbie’s fundraising are democrats, who are using the compliant media to tarbrush republicans with anything to keep attention from Hillary’s illegal Chinese money.

BTW Iâm beginning to think all congresscritters are jerks. I’ve lost what little respect I had for them over the current immigration mess.

I’m also just not impressed with many of our elected officials on every level, including school boards. Luckily, our US Rep, John Carter, seems to be staying the course for the election platform he promoted to get our votes! Although, I hate to probe too far to see who has gotten perks via lobbying, haa!

First of all, you don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. Don’t be impugning someones integrity when you don’t know all the facts.
Doug Lamborn is my Congressman. Hes a solid conservative House member in one of the most Republican districts in the nation. This entire storyline is a continuation of the hotly contested political campaign from last November. The Bartha`s are supporters of Jeff Crank, Lamborn’s main opponent. Crank has already said he will run against Lamborn in 2008. This is pure politics.
The Bartha`s didn’t tell the truth. Lamborn returned the two contributions in question and there was nothing threatening in the the two voice messages in question. When you make charges in public but cant’ back them up, the person who was attacked has every right to defend himself and call those people liars. Which is what they are.

I don’t see any gambling interests listed on his “major contributors” at the link below.....you can also click any of the categories on the left column of the page. (scroll down past Lamborns opponent on the page this link takes you to:
