Thats the scuttlebutt I heard as well, along with possible medical treatment for those soldiers who needed to be evacuated to the USA.
The fuel and sidewinders were loaded in Britain, the Satlint was ongoing.

And Argentina has never forgotten it. Boo-hoo for them. First, they never should have screwed with a NATO nation without expecting other NATO nations to help Britain. Second, they should have taken Reagan seriously when he tried to mediate the situation.
I don't harbor any ill-feelings toward Argentina, but anyone who wants to have wounded pride because we sided with Margaret Thatcher over a bunch of junta thugs has another think coming.
