Senator Craig, your post #343 - no matter what actually happened, the Senator made a terrible mistake in judgment by pleading guilty to any one of the charges, especially if he did not consult an attorney or even a political advisor.
Terrible mistake in judgement as in, "Thank the Lord that this guy is only a Senator and not in charge of something important." A lapse that large is an indication that he should have retired at the end of this term, before complete senility became apparent.

Yes, Craig needs to go, guilty or not, based simply on his poor judgment in how hes handled this situation. Simply leaving office isnt sufficient, for me, if he is guilty.
But Ive moved past the question of his behavior. Im concentrating on the who, when and how of this story getting out. In that context I find Ben Steins article today very interesting (though not directly on point):

Exactly at the end of the day it screams lack of judgement which cannot be allowed in someone who holds a public office.
