It’s a southern thing. Being called “honey” or “sugar” here is just common. I do it myself.
Agreed! I do it occasionally and I'm always being called "honey", "sugar", or "sweetie". It's what we do. I would especially love it if it was Fred! :-)
Growing up in the South, I understand. I just hope the rest of the country can understand and it will be a “drawing card” instead of a “turn off”. And, I think it will be the former rather than the latter.

Yeah, it’s not a big deal. I don’t sweat the small stuff. I’ve been called far worse. And I’ll take “honey” or “sugar” any day over “Bless your heart” ;-)
And when I go to the South I love to hear it. I am so tired of politically correct tight asses just looking for a sexual harassment I need duct tape so my head won't explode.
As long as the South continues to do so, I will gladly spend my vacation dollars and long to retire there.
