Greenpeace's co-founder -- now a consultant to the forestry industry -- took a swipe at Leonardo DiCaprio's new eco-documentary, "The 11th Hour," calling it a "climate-changing rant" that misleads the public about the dangers of deforestation.
DiCaprio had no comment on the piece.
"He again calls for more discussion and urges people to see 'The 11th Hour,'" his publicist Ken Sunshine said.
"The 11th Hour" is a critically lauded film, narrated and co-written by DiCaprio and co-directed by Nadia and Leslie Petersen Conners. It examines how industrialization has decimated the Earth's eco-systems.
But in his op-ed titled "An Inconvenient Fact" that ran in today's Vancouver Sun, Patrick Moore characterizes the Warner Independent film as another anti-forestry scare tactic. He writes that trees are powerful carbon concentrators and when a tree rots and dies, the carbon it has absorbed is released back into the atmosphere. In contrast, Moore writes, furniture made from trees hundreds of years ago still holds its carbon.

Ouch!
In a related story, Mr. DiCaprio will now be playing the Iron Eyes Cody role in future "Crying Indian" commercials...
Well, he IS Italian........
“Greenpeace’s co-founder—now a consultant for the forrestry industry...”
This was more interesting than anything about that little punk actor.
What the heck?!? He really was Italian? Thanks : )
Well, it just goes to show that the Environment Movement has been based on hoaxes all along.
It was the greatest secret in Holyweed. He kept it very well, played to the stereotype and made his living off it. He deserves a special OSCAR!........
Boy that’s a beautiful picture. Baby is, as baby does.
I wonder what libs do when they actually have a real reason to get upset. It can’t be pretty.
No, I misspelled forestry. I had hoped I could write two lines without using spell check, but apparently not.
Sorry about that! I thought that was they had spelled it in the original article. My bad.
I think it’s interesting that the whole film has made only $171,000, though. Al Gore gets $175,000 for every speech he gives.
Yes, but Al invented Silly Putty, so he’s worth the big bucks.
Note how this information makes its way into the first line of the story. Fair enough--it is relevant, after all. Just don't look for similar disclaimers in stories quoting, for example, ex-generals criticizing the Iraq war while being on the payroll at leftist think tanks.
Patrick Moore is a leading indicator...
Here is his new website:

I hope it’s not too late for the forestry industry in North America.
Damn....I always thought DeCaprio was a great actor...but his becoming an enviro-Wacko totally turns me off....
And besides being anti-civilization, they are extremely pro collecting millions of dollars in donations from the gullible.
