Sen. Larry Craig's case has opened a window on a small but thriving subculture. The founder of a popular cruising Web site discusses what makes a hotspot, the etiquette and trends in the online quest for gay sexand his concern that mere foot-tapping could trigger an arrest.
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is enjoying a rather awkward moment in the sun, as reporters descend on the mens room where Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig was arrested for disorderly conduct owing to the foot taps heard round the world. But the Twin Cities flight hub was flashing red in a smaller precinct of opinion two months agowhen a well-trafficked Web site alerted readers that police had made a number of arrests at the very spot where Craig was collared. I just got busted here, warned one poster on cruisingforsex.com, a site that lists tips, popular trysting outlets and gay personals. [Editor's note: This site and others mentioned in this article contain explicit images and language.]
Information about what spots are hotand which are notwere once traded by word of mouth by the subset of the local gay community interested in that sort of thing. But thanks to cruisingforsex.com (which boasts some 30,000 visitors daily, its operators say) and its competitors, such information is easily accessible around the countryand the world. And the information is precise; some listings direct readers to visit a location between, say 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. NEWSWEEKs Brian Braiker spoke to the sites founder, Keith Griffiths, about what happened to Craig and the way the online cruising world works.

subculture
yea, that pretty much nails it
Typical liberal media. This is nothing more than free press for these types of sites.
Thats your take on it.
I think I want to vomit now.
These people are demented. And the problem in our culture is that we don’t see this behavior as demented any longer
Nowadays , if you think these people are demented , a lot of folks think YOU are for thinking it ! Ancient Rome all over again .
“Mere foot-tapping” didn’t trigger his arrest.
Same place the terrorist taxi drivers refused to serve passengers carrying booze, I believe. Probably not enough to furrow one's brow and draw sweeping conclusions, though. (Any conclusions about MSP being in the liberal forefront would have to also have to be broad enough to explain SF as well, which is a tall order in any case.)
“Oh, my darling, knock three times on the ceiling if you want me
Twice on the pipe if the answer is no, oh,
(Knock, knock, knock!) Means you’ll meet me in the hallway
twice on the pipe (clink, clink) means you ain’t gonna show”

An excellent point (which should not have to be made). jiggygirl has decided that she's not going to wear her iPod into public bathrooms, just in case it plays one of her favorite songs.
This is not just sick it’s downright lethal.
There on the message boards are HIV positive males advertising for partners.
How long does it take to distribute AIDS to every city in the nation when you have reckless, promiscuous, men sodomizing each other as they fly around the country?
No doubt they look for new casual partners when they arrive at their out-of-town destinations, then many probably take their infections home to their family....
What bothers me about this whole situation is that I have a teenage son. How do you trust public restrooms? It’s pretty scary to think about. I can go to the bathroom with my daughters, but not my son.
It’s one thing to do things in the privacy of one’s own home, but it’s another thing to do it in a public spot.
This bizarre sex in the bathroom or behind bushes with strangers signaled by some weird touching of the foot seems to be a gay thing.... how is this behavior “normal” as they want us to believe....sick sick sick
Funny, as this is what the turbanned Sikh who owns a local store told me a few weeks ago. He said Americans have no boundries ... that bad behavior is condoned and not discouraged. That normally that there would be societal rejection rejection when people act out of bounds.
World is full of perverts!
” that bad behavior is condoned and not discouraged. That normally that there would be societal rejection rejection when people act out of bounds.”
The Sikh is a wise man. Our nation is in trouble. When we see what has changed in just the last 50 years; it is troubling..
