I hope not many thought I had such thin skin.

I get mistreated, but certainly less than everybody else. Everybody wants to be friends with the guy that carries the meds :)

I remember one particularly slow witted recruit who did something to offend the Corpsman while getting a Gamma Globulin shot. The Corpsman gave him the shot in his right cheek and told him to go to the back of the line.

Got him in the left cheek the second go round.

Glad I was smart (kept my mouth shut) and only got one! ;-)

Amazing how the PT runs loosened those up though...

There were few times in my career that I was near my company’s medic - but when I was I always treated him like royalty. My combat time was on Army boats, and our cook was our medic (other duty as assigned). Cooks truss up cut meat, so it was a logical choice.
I did gain a lot of respect for medics and corpsmen over there. When I would be hunkered down in a bunker they’d be running around patching people up and dragging them to safety.
