How could the senator's campaign have missed the red flags over Hsu? As Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu confronted an old criminal case and faced a new FBI investigation Friday, a fundamental question persisted: How did Democratic presidential front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign fail to see the red flags in Hsu's contributions?
Until this week, Clinton counted Hsu as one of her most prolific money bundlers. He gave her campaign $22,300, regularly appeared as a co-host for major fundraising lunches and dinners, and raised more than $100,000 from his friends for her presidential run.
Obviously, we were all surprised by this news, and we have a procedure that we follow and upon verifying it, we returned his money," Clinton said this week.
When a campaign has attracted more than 500,000 donors, as Clinton's has, there is no way a candidate's staff can check out each contributor. Clinton and her aides said there was little they could have done to protect themselves, but fundraising experts from both parties pointed to warning signs that should have given aides pause.
"If I were raising money for the prohibitive front-runner for president of the United States, I would be very, very careful about who these donors are and do some level of research," said Marty Wilson, a Republican strategist and fundraiser for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and others.

As does the GOP leadership! If this were a Republican scandal the Dems would be holding a freaking press conference daily! It gets me so riled up!

The red flags were probably all lost in the sea of red flags that already surround this group.
The Clintonistas claimed that they “missed the vett” with Peter Paul and didn’t know about the Cuban Coffee Caper. That’s interesting. He had already been vetted by the Secret Service about six times for meetings with Nixon, Carter, Ford, Reagan and others.

You don’t check out guys giving twenty bucks. You do check out big donors.
Their crimes, indiscretions and peccadillos are excused by their party and the press....indeed, they are rewarded with praise and promotions after exhibiting bad behavior.
Paging Alamo Girl.
Your Downside Legacy is having a re-birth.
Question for any/all...
Like with the Larry Craig PAC monies being unloaded as fast as it can, I see reports that the Hildebeast is ‘giving the (Hsu) contributions to charity’ as though that makes it all better (and makes it just go away).
Do they then get to write off this ‘charitable contribution’?
Shouldn’t they be forced to hand the dirty money back to the contributer (with appropriate paparazzi memorializing the event?!)
Thanks for letting me know!
They donate to a “charity” like NOW who finds ways to slip the money right back to them... at least that is my thought.
How in the world did California allow this guy Hsu to elude justice for 15 frickin’ years? To me, that is a big part of the story.
Thanks Pookie
No, but how many of those donors give over $100,000? She should easily be able to check out the top 20. Obviously, she turned a blind eye. Try again, LASlimes.
Goes to show that a Clinton presidency could not be trusted...could be easily infiltrated and influenced by the Communist Chinese.
Remember Gore and the buddist monks ?
Doug, please expound on what you mean, here. Are you hearing that this story has legs?
The Clintons had many relationships with various enemies of the Country and scumbags in general such as drug dealers etc. The common denominator ???? The Dollar.
Who is going to verify that any of it moves out of Hillary's campaign fund?
If she does give it to "charity", will it be the Clinton Global Initiative or the Clinton Foundation, or maybe one of her former piggy banks, The Childrens Defense Fund?
Remember when she listed her contributions from the American Muslim Council as the American Museum Council and then claimed it was an accidental misspelling?
I gotta wonder when the pile of their scams gets so high and heavy that it becomes too much even for the sheep.
