Half of the children in the US between the ages 0-5 are minorities. Hispanics [of all races] were 1% of the US population in 1950. They are over 15% of the population today and will be 24.4% of the population by 2050. Non-Hispanic whites were 89% of the population in 1965, 67% today, and will be 50% in 2050.
