First of all, there is a 40 ton Gross Vehicle Weight without permits. If ANY combination vehicle of 26K exceeds this without permits, there are stiff penalties. Also, there are specific limits of axle weights designated and controlled by each state DOT.

As an OTR trucker, I assure you, that any Mexican truck that pulls into a scale in any state that does not conform to that state’s DOT regulations, he/she will be paying some hefty penalties and may be shut down or impounded. States throughout the US will be performing heavy monitoring of Mexican trucks.

Regulating of the trucking industry provides high revenue for the states due to fines.

From the American truckers out there, it will be open season on the Mexican truckers. They are not wanted nor welcomed. I pity the Mexican truckers starting in this program. I predict lots of accidents where Mexicans are run off of the road.

“stiff penalties”

I generally here and feel what you’re saying. I wanted to grab that quote that just happened to be from you, and ask the rethorical question of...

What stiff penalties did the 9/11 hijackers receive?

..your putting way to much faith in state governments. These are, and will be, the same states that allow sanctuary cities.
There is a LAW that holds those responsible for NOT ENFORCING LAWS to be accountable....read any headlines lately?

Immigrants, (especially illegals), are exempt from prosecution in New Jersey. Not in theory, but most definitely in practice. And it’s not the only sanctuary state.

As a trucker, you should be concerned about your rates. If you’re not happy with what the illegals have done to your rates, wait until you see what an influx of legal third-worlders will do to your rates.

Now might be a good time to look into another line of work. How are you at playing the stock market?

How did I get to point that I have no objections to anything you suggest?

Mexicans are not held accountable for other laws. I will not be surprised if they're given a break at the scale as well. They are the exception. They must not be discriminated against.

Well, I had visions of that actually happening. But the downside of that insures that it won’t happen again if one of their trucks loaded with illegals is run off the road, killing perhaps 100 people.
