August 31, 2007 -- A Long Island man convicted of killing his parents received a special gift on this 36th birthday - a surprise visit from James Gandolfini. The "Sopranos" star drove four hours each way Wednesday to pay a two-hour visit to Martin Tankleff, who has been incarcerated for 17 years at the Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock, about 220 miles north of New York City. Gandolfini became interested in meeting Tankleff after learning about his case from Jay Salpeter, a private investigator and former NYPD homicide detective.

Speaking of stupid people, this reporter needs to learn to use proper nouns.
You can read this article like James is visiting the murdered of James’ parents.
Actually, the headline reads like Tony Soprano went to visit James Gandolfini, who is in jail for killing his parents. And the body of the story doesn’t make much more sense.
The title needs a period or paragraph break after the word visit. The body of the story reads fine to me.

The story of Martin Tankleff is a very interesting one.
His father was involved in all sorts of shady business deals prior to his death and there are many suspects.
It does appear that the police told him if he confessed he could go see one of his parents who was not dead yet but really was. The police totally lied to the boy.
Tough situation and even more interesting is nearly his entire family and those of both his parents believe he is innocent.
I’ve seen numerous shows on this. It sure looks like his father’s partner had motive and opportunity... plus, he seemed sleazy.
This kid could really be innocent. There is absolutely no evidence he did it and everything points to the partner including his druggy son.
