Similarly, when you’re pumping gasoline into a can so you can fuel your lawnmower, you shouldn’t shout “Allahu akhbar!” for no apparent reason. Don’t wear a vest full of modeling clay with wires sticking out of it to the airport or, for that matter, anywhere. Don’t buy a shotgun, a sack of lime, a tarp and a shovel at a Wal-Mart at 3 am. Don’t shout “I’m gonna MF’n kill you” at a presidential candidate in a public venue.
Don’t play in traffic, Don’t sleep on the railroad tracks, Don’t park your car on the gunnery range, and if you absolutely must avail yourself of a prostitute, don’t pick a Haitian hemophiliac heroin addict with a no-condoms policy.
The more I live and learn, the more I come to believe that the phrase “common sense” is adjective abuse. It’s nowhere near as common as we would like to believe.
