“To their eyes, comfortable as it may be, western society is an aberration.

It’s the other way around - to you guys anything non-christian is an aberration.

Many muslims from iraq and iran have left the country because of the quite unpleasant experiences they made with the regimes there - then again many left when the air became to much poluted with heavy metalls - and most of them are sick and tired of this quite oriental kill and get killed game.

I guess many of them value peace and democracy higher then anyone over here - they just know the alternatives.

So why o why should these folks from all folks have to justify themselfes ?

There are otheres - they are over here but I guess in germany the problem is by far lower then in Belgium, the netherlands and France where you can see the one or other burka.

You will not see this in germany.

We have some (most times Pakistani some turkish)Imams that are definately on the dark side -we have a problem with them but we differenciate between them and the good guys - it’s our duty and if you don’t -

you loose the battle against the bad guys for sure.

"We have some...Imams that are definately on the dark side -we have a problem with them but we differenciate between them and the good guys - it’s our duty and if you don’t -"

And just how do you differentiate?

The ones who absolutely refuse to discuss it are good guys?
The ones who don't wear beards and robes are good guys?
The one not screaming in your face is a good guy?

I'm not talking about foam at the mouth radicals...

I'm talking about "normal" everyday folks, business persons, engineers, bankers...people I have daily interactions with and have done so for 15 or more years. Nice people in every regard and far more likely to "fit in" than 90% of "our" mexicans.

Except that they still consider events in the middle east as normal and entirely reasonable. Most are still uncomfortable with gender equality and with "losing" their kids to western ways.

Apart from the frequent trips back home, they almost universally expect to return. The only exceptions I have noted were Persians who came while Shah was in power, and (I think) one Jordanian. Christians and Armenians are separate categories altogether.

PS: Identifying me as a Christian is a stretch unless someone has died or gotten married recently - and the last one of those was Jewish.

PPS: Good luck with your sensitivity training but I doubt there is any way to win a battle by looking on and debating shades of gray.

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy. Let me continue now.....

“Certainly referring to the society of Germans in the 30ies who deliberately accepted the Jews as scapegoat for everything evil.”

In the 30’s all Jews were scapegoated for the crime of, basically, doing well for themselves, while non Jewish Germans weren’t. Jews weren’t killing people, as muslims are these days. They were quite pacific, which is why they were so easily rounded up. The comparison doesn’t work. Muslim offenses are not imaginary, and they pose a real danger to civilized society.

But if you think your own muslim communities are benign and pose no threat, here’s a sample of what is going on around you:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-inob20I_Y0&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fno%2Dpasaran%2Eblogspot%2Ecom%2F

The woman author is an example of what I am asking for of the greater “good” muslim community. It is not enough to oppose radical islam, if you only whisper it behind closed doors or among good friends. They must take risks and get involved, and stop this before it goes further. To date, such involvement has been rare. You might read this woman’s book for perspective.

You can give example after example of your good, decent muslim friends, but I can give you example after example of the opposite. Your friends will be lumped in with the bad if they don’t actively stand for good. That is an inevitability that history teaches us over and over again.
