BEIJING (Reuters) - China has found microscopic worms in wooden packaging from the United States and uncovered substandard U.S. vitamin pills and fish oil for children, Chinese media said on Friday in the latest volley of cross-border accusations.
China has highlighted several quality concerns with U.S. products in apparent response to recent complaints in Washington about the safety of Chinese exports ranging from toys to toothpaste.
The pine wood worms, or nematodes, were found in 13 sets of packaging in the manufacturing hub of Shenzhen, the China Daily said.

It’s obvious what they are doing, you’re absolutely right. But who do they think they are fooling? Well, they think they are fooling the USA who hasn’t had a problem with the unfair trade deal with them year after year. So we haven’t minded terribly being fooled since year after year they are the MFN.
Want to use your own wood China? Feel free. Don’t need our “substandard “ products? Fine. Get by on what you can produce yourselves. Eat what you kill.
Just go to Walley world and see substandard junk from China.

This is BS. I work in the freight forwarding business and know that China requires certificates of inspection showing that wood packing materials were fumigated and inspected for these mites.
We make the mistake in dealing with China that truth matters..it doesn’t matter to them. Propaganda matters.
We need to wake up..China steals our designs, ships substandard products and then laughs at us for buying the crap.

They could send them to North Korea, they could use them, more protein than tree branches and grass.
I guess these worms jumped onto the ship right at the port of China before leaving to US to pick the woods or at its arrival, and guess these worms were illegal immigrants from China. China has not made an apology, and this claim tells us they are not sorry for their errors. We need a stronger “China-Free” movement to make them understand American buyers are not dumb nor ignorant.
Well, I've been doin' my part for nigh onto 20 years now....
And having shipped any number of pallets and cartons into China, I can tell you they don't honor HT stamps or fumigation certificates if someone chooses.
We had equipment on HT pallets that got fumigated IN Hong Kong that was refused at the border, not because there was a problem but because someone wanted his palm greased. It had to get pulled off the pallets and hand carried(on an open flatbed) across the border. Thereafter, we shipped only plastic pallets into China.
Just go to any upscale store selling toys ...
