Studies have shown that only about 5% of recalled items are actually ever returned.

Many times this stuff is never pulled from the shelves.

They’ll keep selling it, if we keep buying it........

This is pathetic. We won a world war due to our ability to manufacture everything we needed.

R U Kidding me? Another China Recall? Geesh, I am on my 5th hose nozzle this summer. I am so pissed off, I bought on in the spring and it sprung a leak, so I bought a more heavy duty one and the plastic thing cracked ( unusable) so I went for the fire hose style and it leaked the first day, so I went for steel, dropped it on the ground and the tip popped off... look to screw it back in and nothing but a solder job (no threads) so off for number 5, this time I kept the pastic tab attached, the one that you are supposed to remove? Anyway, so far so good, but all 5 made in china, my search for an american made hose nozzle has been unsucessfull, meanwhile the old lady that lives next store is still using the same nozzle on her hose that she bought 35 years ago. I am soo pissed off about this, walmart, target, and home depo can kiss my hose!

I’m using what was my great grandmother’s old brass twist nozzle. It must be 80 years old and works beautifully.

I keep all my receipts in a drawer now and I take the junk back.

Menard’s and Walgreen’s are going to kick me out soon.

Then I’ll get a lawyer.......

There’s a new recall today from the FDA for Margarita Salt Rimmer tins. The release doesn’t state any of the ingredients are from China so I won’t post it to this thread because I don’t want to hi-jack your thread. I did want to post though since there is a recall which might affect some FReepers. Anyone interested can go to the link in my tagline.

Those are generic looking cables. They'll be floating around for decades.

We bought a water heater from Sears last year that the salesperson suggested was probably made in China. We can’t seem to regulate the temperature on the damn thing and we discovered that our natural gas bill has taken a major spike upward. Our plumber just installed a replacement stopper assembly in our sink that was made in China. (The stopper, that is.) The stopper sits in the bottom of the sink at a crooked angle and looks weird.

My brother bought some rubber boots for winter snow shoveling that were made in China. He wanted the black rubber kind with buckles that go over your shoes but he couldn’t find any made in America. The Chinese crap he bought fell apart after one season. He had to try to patch them up with electrical tape. (Not too watertight in heavy snow.)

We need a new hose nozzle but I don’t dare buy one considering your experience.

Why are we putting up with this? How about a nationwide boycott or demonstration or SOMETHING.

As far as a hose nozzle is concerned, you might try Ebay. I took a look out of curiosity and found a set of 3 old brass twist type nozzles for under 8 bucks.

The old brass one is the best you can get. We still use one that is at least as old as your great grandmother’s. About the only place to find a good one now is at an antique store where I have seen them between $20-35.00!! Who’d ever think that something that cost maybe 50 cents way back then would be worth so much today.

I’ve got her old Techumseh roto tiller too. I think it was built in the 40s and I still use it.

Sorry about your water heater experience that sounds expensive, my nozzle story is true and it really pisses me off. I am affraid for our country, with all the china recalls, the muzzies in our medical fields, the open borders, and the anti-american 24/7 by our supposed media, and lets not forget our congress-critters who many of which are more aniti-american self-interest power-hungry, self-obsurbed..... you get the point... blows my mind as a tear trickles down my cheek.

The key word there is "worth" because they really are worth it if you can get a lifetime's use out of them.

“I’ve got her old Techumseh roto tiller too”

Working behind that beast will either make into the Incredible Hulk or kill you. I’ve got an old American made Troy built, made 50 miles from here in Troy, NY. I love it. American tools can’t be beat. The only non-American “tool” I have that I wouldn’t part with is my Japan made Honda generator. One pull on choke, next one without and she’ll start everytime.
