Clearwater, Florida - Fellow Marines salute the American Flag, a symbol of John Graziano's accomplishments. The 22-year-old recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq where he beat the odds after an explosion.

Tears of friends and family members at an early evening vigil are telling of his condition. They gathered at Glen Oaks Park near the crash site to show support. His girlfriend, Ashley Berry, is praying that once again Graziano can fight through.

Ashley Berry, Graziano's Girlfriend
"He's too strong not to. He's been to war and back. He's too strong of a guy not to, he doesn't give up, and he's too persistent."

On Sunday, both Graziano and friend of six years Nick Bollea, wrestler Hulk Hogan's son, were in accident that left Bollea's Toyota smashed and mangled.

Clearwater police investigators say speed was a factor in the accident but have not determined if racing, drugs or alcohol were involved. Graziano's sister rushed in from Dallas after hearing the grim news and says her brother would be shocked at the support.

Christin Carson, Graziano's Sister
"Right now he'd be upset at all the fuss being made over him because he doesn't like a fuss in any way, he's an independent, strong, healthy man. The nurses say that's what's going to get him really rehabilitated and back to normal in no time."

Graziano was supposed to return to Iraq in October, according to his sister. That will be delayed. His parents and brothers are with him in the hospital in intensive care.

Graziano's sister says the Hogan family has visited the hospital, bringing food and calling in a special doctor to make sure Graziano is getting the best medical care he can.
