I only put in $50, but there are so many good causes out there.

Jesus said that we'll always have the poor with us, so there are a lot of good causes and only so much $$ to go around.

I’d be kinda wary, Savage, of helping this guy out, how bout asking him his opinion of the WOT first.

But you agree that in general a citizen of the USA should get a job offer before an illegal, right?

Heck, I’ve been “officially” poor I suppose. Never went for food stamps. Just was choosing to buy $2 worth of cigarettes rather than $2 worth of food. Long time ago.

Some married men make a point of displaying their wedding band (like Sen. Craig allegedly did) to make themselves more alluring.

That's awful. Why would a wedding ring make someone more alluring? I wear my wedding ring all the time and if a guy hit on me with it on, I'd automatically know he was a scum. If he had a wedding ring on as well, I'd know he was double scum!

i dont get Savage’s whining about the Iraq War at all.

His criticism of Bush is right on. but regardless, we can’t leave Iraq. I dont know he doesn’t see this.

When I lived in SK, I walked quite a bit but taxis were really cheap, too.

This war will last a LONG TIME.

We’re fighting an ideological war and we haven’t even started fighting it on those terms yet.

I think it’s funny that the LP folks were just bragging how their TSN thread had most posts than this one...LOL! I’m glad that the banned infidels have somewhere to go to release their anger at this crazy liberal world, though. I miss ‘em.

The supervisors of SF get re-elected based on the type of stunt they pulled on Savage.

I have spoken to Dr Savage a few times since I thought of this question, and each time I'd forgotten to ask it:

"You are nearly too good to be true, Dr. Savage. How can we be sure you aren't 'O'Brien?'" Here's the thread from back in 2001 which offers you some background on this question.

“How can we be sure you aren’t ‘O’Brien?’”
Hmmm. Not consciously I would say. We all make little compromises in life, to avoid being fired, arrested, keep the peace with relatives or friends, etc.
