Former Tennessee Senator Fred Dalton Thompson may be announcing his presidential candidacy formally at 4:30 pm EDT today. A reliable source close to Thompson's advisors told HUMAN EVENTS that today would be the actual announcement, not the announcement-of-the-announcement rumored earlier.
Thompson's move may have been accelerated by the August 29 editorial in the Manchester, NH Union Leader that said Thompson's failure to participate in the scheduled September 5 debate would be a snub to New Hampshirites.
Whatever motivated Thompson, the September 5 debate - with him in it - would be much more important than it would otherwise have been.

Ditto.
Wondering if Red State went with it because of Jed Babbin’s post or if they had independent sources..

HOw hard is it for everyone to understand that the LAST RERUN of Law and Order runs Saturday Sept 1. Thompson has said all along that he did not want to cause the reruns to be pulled and his fellow cast members to lose thier royalties.

Fred Thompson said hes still testing the waters in his bid for the presidency. Hes been testing the waters for what, like six months now? In fact, those arent wrinkles on his facehes starting to prune up from being in the water for so long.

They were really definite about it. Geraghty’s got a proven track record though. Guess we’ll have to wait till 4:30 to find out. :)

HOw hard is it for everyone to understand that the LAST RERUN of Law and Order runs Saturday Sept 1. Thompson How hard it is for everyone to understand that the masses really could care less about the reruns of some television program. I guess you think the reruns of "Law and Order" are far more important than the Office of President.
To: Badeye
I was kinda hoping he’d wait till September, but I guess today is as good as any. Where do I get my bumper sticker?
