“In which case, you should do a little research. The information is out there.”

But you can’t provide a single link where he really explains all his delays and dilly dallying? You’re the one who claims all the information exists. Where is it?

Why should I do your work for you? The info is out there if YOU choose to look.

A couple of posts RE Fred and Law and Order. Some things simply imply that actions can speak louder than words I guess.

“where he really explains all his delays and dilly dallying”

In this case words do speak loudly. Seems your intent has been exposed.

“I’d love to see them because I had great hopes for Fred as a candidate, but he’s hurt himself and all the spin in the world wont’s change that.”

Do you really think we believe you “had great hopes for Fred” and now that he hasn’t met your timetable for announcing, you are ragging on him ?

By the way, about those links that support your position, where are they ? You are going to post them, right?

Why should Fred explain other peoples speculations? Fred has a plan (a well thought out plan I think) to skip all of this crazy way-to-early presidential campaigning the other candidates are participating in. From what I have seen so far, the other candidates haven’t helped themselves one iota, and probably wish they had started they’re campaign later.

Dilly dallying?

LOL

Fred Thompson was too smart to jump in too early like all the others did.

It’s normal to announce in the Fall before the election year

So Fred will be a tad earlier than tradition dictates.

Kennedy announced in Jan of the year he ran and won.

How sweet of you.

What “common sense” has to do with this bit of news, I have no idea.

Thanks for providing links that illustrate precisely what I’ve been saying all along: that Fred has failed to silence rumours about when he’ll announce, and has failed to provide specifics about when he will announce. Like it or not, all this dilly dallying has cost him support, and made him appear indecisive and even lazy, seeming to confirm the early negative opinions that were put out.

From your first link;

“Thompson is likely to announce plans to officially begin a presidential campaign around the July 4 holiday.”

That rumour floated for two or thee weeks in June but, of course, proved incorrect, and frustrated some eager supporters.

Nothing you linked provides anything but speculation about “Law and Order”, about whether or not FEC laws could, or would be applied. Seems unlikely if the MSM morning shows can provide Dems twice the coverage of Republicans and not be challenged, per a FR thread earlier this week.

That’s the whole problem, all potential supporters have had to go on are rumours and more rumours, and Fred’s failure to clarify anything until they spun for days or weeks. And again, TODAY, we have the same thing as I point out in my #
160.

Is he announcing his candidacy today, or is he announcing the date he plans to announce, or not? Same old, same old, whether some want to acknowledge it or not.

Lol. You tell me there is much information out there. I ask for links, then you come back with:

“Why should I do your work for you? The info is out there if YOU choose to look.”

I’M supposed to provide links that prove YOUR contention that there is much information out there?

Once again your motives are blatantly exposed. You complain about an annnouncement that is not an announcement. You assert that Fred may be making an announcement today.

Obviously neither facts nor logic mean little in your sense of reasoning. What part of FRED RESIGNS from Law and Order is not clear.

I feel like I am trying to provide rational input to someone who is so cognitively dissonated as to be unable to ascertain others reasonable thoughts beyond your own biased apperceptions.

This is America. You are entitled to your opinions. You do not, however, have the ability or power to force them onto others.

Here’s the latest.

Sources: Thompson to announce Sept. 6th

Fred Thompson’s campaign-in-waiting will hold a 4 p.m. conference call today with supporters to brief them on plans for the former Tennessee senator’s presidential announcement next week, according to an e-mail obtained by Politico.com.

Randy Enwright, Thompson’s political director, said in the message that they will “discuss the next steps as we move forward as an organization.” A Thompson aide confirms that they’ll share the news about the long-awaited formal launch. “By the end of the day, we’ll have more clarity,” the aide said, declining to reveal which day the announcement would take place.

UPDATE: Still no official confirmation from the campaign, but Thompson sources now confirm that he will announce his candidacy next Thursday, Sept. 6. The launch will include a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. As expected, Thompson will not appear at the GOP debate in New Hampshire on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

A Thompson campaign official says that they’ll issue a paper statement as to their plans later this afternoon.

Now there’s something we can count on, lol.

But to the Fred supporters, I live in Alabama and hoped that Fred would be a candidate I could be enthusiastic about. Trying to defend the indefensible doesn’t help his cause. Better to hope he quickly rights the ship and ends this summer of speculation and long running rumours that have damaged his credibility and cut into his initial support. It’s beginning to look pretty inept, and spin won’t change that.

He needs some immediate correction and smoother sailing from here on and maybe the initial stumbling around will be forgotten. And, it doesn’t matter what you or I think, but what the potential Republican voters think, those who don’t participate on talk boards.

And his support has been decreasing rather than increasingsince late Spring.

I am not here to do your work for you. You want information handed to you about the L&O contracts. You need to look for it.

Most of us here who support Fred have known about what has been keeping him from jumping in since June. Evidently, you want it from the horses mouth, and nothing posted to you about what we have already researched will convince you.

I suspect you could care less about Fred running as much as you just want to create a problem here.

Kennedy announced in Jan of the year he ran and won.

Kennedy won in a brokered convention by cutting a deal with LBJ. He didn't have enough votes going in. How the game was played a half century ago hardly matters today.

Certainly hope so! It’s about time.

Labor Day of the year before Election Day has traditionally been the time to announce your candidacy for the Presidency.

But, traditions have changed over the years.

So, who is running and who are you supporting in the 2012 Presidential Election. :-)
