Ya gotta love when a junior nazi like Ms. Challinor here, who probably fancies herself a real free thinker, gets it in a wad when someone doesn't agree with her point of view.

OOPS - that’s ‘DISPARAGINGLY’ (another “keyboard malfunction”)
To: Chi-townChief
Your column was on the near-fascist blog 'Free Republic,' along with their amazingly juvenile 'Barf Alert' tag.BARF!!!!!!
Oh, by the way, you forgot the Barf Alert.

Call me an idealist, but I believe a columnist can be moderate/liberalModerate/liberal. Interesting use of the slash there...
A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice.

LOL - generally (but not always) the ones by Roeper are. This one is more of a LAUGH ALERT.
To: Chi-townChief
Well, I don’t spend much time reading the Chicago Sun-Times. However, I can’t imagine why anyone would take what Mr. Roeper writes seriously.
The responses that he mentions are illustrative, though, as an indication of how bifurcated the nation has become.
As for myself, I would rather step to the right. We tried the left step, and it did not work.

That was supposed to be a column? I was lost reading the entire thing. I could have written better than that as a high school sophomore.

I guess Ms. Challinor doesn’t know much about fascism, Nazi Germany, or Free Republic.
They were socialists....national socialism. Socialists include: liberals, democrats, ba’athists, communists, etc.
They do not include gun totin’, backwoods, free-thinkin’, terbacky chewin’, deer huntin’, bass fishin’, pro-American, pro-military Freepers.
We are American rednecks and proud of it!
I’d appreciate it if she’d dealve into a subject just a bit before she started tossin’ inane charges around.

The Free Republic is peopled by those who would feel more at home in Berlin, 1937, than in Philadelphia, 1776
It's interesting that you would make than analogy, Lori, since it is your side that is so busily trying to take away every last vestige of free speech in this country with your P.C. ideology.
IMO, you have much more in common with Hitler's Germany than anyone here does, sweety.

Lori sounds like she’s for free speech as long as it’s what she wants to hear.

Richard seems to have an unjustifiably high opinion of himself and his writing ability.
To: Chi-townChief
They have some pretty “intolerant” “hate speech” directed at Free Republic and its members.

Narcissism describes the character trait of self love.
The word is derived from a Greek myth. Narcissus was a handsome Greek youth who rejected the desperate advances of the nymph Echo. As punishment, he was doomed to fall in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Unable to consummate his love, Narcissus pined away and changed into the flower that bears his name, the narcissus.

It only shows their own ignorance.

When Free Republic successfully battles the liberal socialist propaganda machine, using their own techniques, one can see how they detest their own medicine.
Their squeeling, direct attacks on FR in the news media and talk shows are merely a measure of our success.
McCain-Feingold tried to silence Free Republic, but what the Moonbats fail to do legislatively , thanks to the 1st amendment, they seek to do culturally.
We also have an inundation of trolls on FR , who seek to censor FReeper comments , as " That's what gives FR a bad name."
Comments which are innocuous about Barack Obama, for example , are called ,"Race baiting" by such trolls.
There will come a wonderfully humorous Troll Harvest in the near future, to which I am looking forward with eager anticipation.
I hope Challinor increases the volume on her whining , sputtering , iconoclastic, pronouncements. Every time I hear or read such statements, I know that the Conservative agenda is gaining immaculate ground for freedom and patriotism.

"The Free Republic is peopled by those who would feel more at home in Berlin, 1937, than in Philadelphia, 1776." So tell me this Lori: Who regularly and consistently supports the military in its fight against terror - FreeRepublic or DU? And who regularly and consistently voices support for modern day Israel - FreeRepublic or DU?
As for being at home in 1937 Germany, my guess is that many FreeRepublic types were sent to the gas chamber. Back then they didn't have the internet and talk radio to counter the propaganda of the National Socialists. Whereas today, we have these tools to counter the propaganda of the present day National Socialists - AKA Democrats.
