Should Christianity, politics mix?

We are engaged in a war that is not only defining our times, it is determining our destiny.

I'm not talking about the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, or even the broader war on terror – those are offshoots of the real war. I'm talking about the culture war.

The culture war is a struggle between secular socialism and free market traditionalism, and the outcome of this struggle will ultimately determine whether or not the jihadists will pick up the pieces to convert America and Canada into a North American caliphate.

We are engaged in a war that is not only defining our times, it is determining our destiny.

Christians are told the war is not against flesh and blood, and to put on the whole armour of God....having loins girt about with truth...breastplate of righteousness....feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace and the shield of faith ..... helmet of salvation and .....the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Now it is said this war is against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places....

Ephesians 6:10-19

I agree; this is a war for which we need to sign-up.

The sad news is, the Pubbies better clean up their act or it will be a lost cause. Who will we have to lead us into battle; the flip-flopper or the Cross-dresser?

There are a few examples to cite that are appropriate:

1. The bloodless revolutions in the Philippines that were more than prayer power than anything else.

2. The Battle of Lepanto where everyone was ordered to pray as they were going into Battle. The result was that as the Turks were about to route the Christians, the wind changed in such a manner that it was a disaster for the Turkish fleet.

3. The oft cited story of Gabriele Possenti, whom some 2nd Amendment folks refer to as the Saint of Marksmanship. In this case, a young monk in the mountain village of Asola, Italy took on 12 bandits of Garibaldi. Though the bandits each had a pistol and the monk (Gabriele) was unarmed, that changed. Gabriele stole two of the pistols from the bandits and then confronted them. The man of superior faith overcame great odds, and forced the 12 bandits to lay down their pistols, put out the fires they started and leave.

Compare this with the United States of 2007: we have banned prayer from our schools since the 1960s. We believe that things like pornography and other perverted ideals are rights of freedom of expression (which are in fact destructive for out youth and others in our society).

Gay marriage is an issue at a time when traditional marriage is seeing more and more divorce's as well as just children out of wedlock without marriage...

Even Jesus had a foothold in Roman Empire -- of His last two converts, one was the good thief -- symbolic of cheating the devil at death. The other was the Roman Centurion -- symbolic of the Roman Empire and how important it is for Christians to be involved in their government.

If Christians refuse to involve themselves in politics, they leave the running of the country to the godless, who will use the government to destroy the church. They’ve been doing this since the time of FDR, whose administration was riddled with Communists.

The appearance is that the majority of main streamers (Pubbies), will accept anyone who appears to have a chance to win. They exhibit a fear of the former unelected and unaccountable co-president, now residing in the government witness program, called the US Senate.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

well said

We have been hiding beneath the rocks for fear of being tagged as radical or fundamentalist Christians. We are who we are and Christians must “put on the whole armour of Christ,” be bold and not afraid to stand tall for the Gospel.

It is by the example of Christians living their faith openly that the culture wars will be won.
