Another good one.
Hey, do you think you (or anyone) could find vids of the various branches playing musical instruments?

Well, we're kinda a get-around-to-it kinda thread so far.
I think we all have jobs, so we can't be on it all the time.
Just search around on Youtube.

This is a great thread! Lots of cool videos.
Not for dial-up though; bookmark it for broadband.

Unless things have changed, the local Samoon bread is probably far better than the tasteless stuff in the mess halls. Somehow even whole wheat bread was bland and tasteless. I was a Saigon Warrior for a couple months, and preferred the local stands over the mess hall - except for breakfast. I developed a taste for powdered green eggs. Or CO constantly warned us not to eat of drink the local stuff, but it never bothered us (it did take a few days for my gut to adjust to the local Ba me ba beer). They local version of a sub sandwich was fantastic.

When we were stationed (maybe deployed is the new word) at Misawa AFB Japan in the late 50s. We had to drink reconstituted milk. It was AWFUL! In order for us to drink our milk, my mom would buy the chocolate milk version at the commissary—at least it was more palatable then regular milk! I still remember the taste. That is one of the first things we asked for when we got back stateside.

Indiana is wet and muggy. I should be cleaning house, but I’m having a lazy day. Bad hobbit.
I loved some of those videos.

My first meal when I returned in 1968 wasn’t the fried steak at Oakland, but a fantastic steak dinner in San Francisco - a New York Strip 4 thick (no pieces of metal inside!), a real draft beer and a whole pitcher of real milk.
