Communications means public relations or flacking to the press. He will have little or nothing to do with Fred Thompson’s stand on the issues, anotherwords he’s a technician. Who cares what campaigns he has worked on before as a flack? If this were the campaign manager or a political advisor, I’d join you in banging my head, but it’s not!

So you’d prefer a campaign manager who was hesitant, reluctant to make changes even if circumstances demanded them, somebody who’ll just “go along to get along” and keep a staffer in place even though the manager is uncomfortable with that staffer.

Have you ever competed for a position or for that matter, run a business? Managed pople?

Oh, thank goodness ... I was thinking Katherine Harris when I saw the headline

That'd still be better than my first thought -- Bev Harris.

Republican Fred Thompson, hoping to solidify his ever-changing inner circle for a Republican presidential bid, has named strategist Todd Harris to head his communications department.

********************

From the DC Navigators site:

Todd Harris Principal

Todd Harris is a principal of Navigators.

Mr. Harris counsels clients on media relations, communications and message strategy from Navigators' Washington, DC and Tallahassee, Florida offices.

Harris is one of the nation's preeminent communications consultants. Roll Call called him a spinner extraordinaire in the world of political communication, while The New Republic dubbed him a press guru. He has served as a senior communications strategist for some of the nations most prominent elected officials, including Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. John McCain.

Harris served as communications director and spokesman on Florida Governor Jeb Bush's victorious reelection campaign in 2002, during which Florida Today wrote, The man managing Gov. Jeb Bush's image in Florida and nationwide handles media coverage like a combat sport..

More recently, Harris has served as a senior communications strategist for California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and was co-communications director on Schwarzenegger's historic victorious 2003 gubernatorial campaign.

Harris has done extensive political communications training and consulting in several nations including Croatia, Cambodia, Bulgaria, Serbia, the Former Soviet Republic of Georgia, and the Democratic Republic of East Timor.

In 2000, he was the traveling press secretary and spokesman on Senator John McCain's campaign for the White House.

Harris has handled communications duties for a variety of other elected officials, campaigns and political organizations, including the National Republican Congressional Committee, former San Diego Mayor Susan Golding, former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, the Dole-Kemp '96 campaign and the California Republican Party.

Harris is a graduate of UCLA.

Once again Fred Thompson’s tacky wife

Explain your justification for that remark, other than blatant jealousy....

(coupled with the reports of Fred’s recent death)

The above excerpt contains a cleverly-hidden clue. Find the clue, put your thinking-cap on, and see if you can't answer your own question.

“Oh, thank goodness ... I was thinking Katherine Harris when I saw the headline. Heart attack! Heart attack!”

Nah, Fred wants to win. Hiring Krazy Kathy Harris would preclude any chance of that, she got stomped by Bill Nelson, fercrissakes.

Yes, I do it everyday. I own my own business.

Well, so do I. And if a person isn’t working out and my business would be enhanced or my operation function better by the efforts of somebody else, I wouldn’t hesistate to make that decision or change.

We don’t know the reasons Rosette left, could be any number of them. She’s a professional and not some junior employee that must be tutored and brought along.

Yet you snipe at a personnel decision made by the campaign chairman who undoubtedly had his reasons. Your remarks on the Fred threads show your real agenda quite clearly.

I’m sure it was no mistake that the headline writer used the word “taps” after all the Larry Craig stuff...

I think the writer means "some condiments on a hot dog."

And since when is "hot dog" one word?
