Nicole Browns sister, Denise Brown, said she has cancelled plans to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show because of "all the recent developments surrounding the If I Did It book." Brown had been scheduled to go on the show September 13 with Fred and Kim Goldman. It is unclear whether the Goldmans will still appear on the program that will devote its entire hour to the topic. She is expected to discuss her decision during a press conference later this afternoon in Dana Point, Calif.,

As for Oprah, one of my best friends from church is promoting Tony Dungy's new memoir, Quiet Strength. He's done a great job promoting the book but Oprah won't have him on the show. She's strung Tony along for months. Larry King turned it down also. I know he takes a lot of pride in the book reaching No. 1 without being on those shows but for Oprah to bring attention to the O.J. book yet refusing to have Dungy on the show is, well, just crap.
What stand has Oprah taken in the past concerning OJ and the murders?
Tony Dungy is THE MAN.
I went to a Colt’s preseason game (vs. Detroit) and tried to find a “DUNGY” jersey, but couldn’t find one.
Lots of stars on that team, but none brighter than Tony.
He's a far more honorable man than alot of the people she has on the show. What's her reasoning for not booking his appearance?
They won’t give my friend a reason. He thinks it’s because Tony turned her down after his son committed suicide. He said that Tony has been able to process a lot about the suicide while writing the book so he’s a lot more willing to talk about it now than he was right after his son passed.
To be perfectly honest, Tony isn’t at all caught up about being on Oprah. He just knows it’s a great venue to get his wonderful message out to a lot of people that wouldn’t ordinarily get to hear it. The book is really solid, too. Sports autobiographies is usually a bad genre in terms of quality books but this one is really well done.

Here’s the link about B&N, although it is one of its highest selling books right now on its online outlet.
I’m kinda confused, is denise mad at the goldmans somehow?
Tony is a surprisingly conservative man, and I suspect Oprah’s target audience did not approve of his anti-sodomy comments of recent.
Sounds like it to me. For some reason, the Goldman estate gets 90 percent of the proceeds from the book, while the Brown/Simpson clan gets only 10 percent. She thinks Goldman’s on a money grab from the best I can tell.
Seriously? The first African American NFL coach to win a SuperBowl and Oprah won’t have him on. Wow.
Well, that too. Tony is very conservative. He talks a lot about personal responsibility and how the black culture is failing its youth. He’s actually spoken about many of the things that Cosby has spoken out about lately, but he has less baggage than Cosby does recently. That probably doesn’t help him with Oprah.
My friend actually was surprised how open the liberal media was to having Tony on their show. He said one of his best interviews was on Alan Colmes’s radio show. Hannity also wouldn’t have him on.
Shocked him too. I guess you are only truly African-American if you are also a lib. Otherwise, you are a sellout.
‘While I feel for her loss, Denise Brown just irks the hell out of me.’
Same here. She’s turned the murder into a career choice.
I agree Oprah is a ratings slut!
Tony does not embrace the 'new morality' that liberals assume we all accepted since their unethical power play of the nineteen sixties.
Oprah supports homosexuality and other sexual sin without repentance.
Oprah habitually condemns those who refuse to give in to the sick, amoral standards set by social liberals such as hollywood and the bathroom cruisers.
Tony Dungy does not believe humans should live like beasts, but should instead live with morality and honor.
Oprah spent an entire hour grilling Mark Furman about his use of the "N Word". Does he NOW see how hateful that word is? Does he know how many people were effected by his hateful use of "that word"? Yada, Yada, Yada.
Nothing about OJ.
Nothing about the blatant racism displayed by the Jury in refusing to convict OJ.
Just an hour filled with her preaching about how nasty that word is.
Of course in typical Oprah fashion, she follows that show with an hour long tribute to "her most favorite" comedian, Eddie Murphy.
No mention of the fact that her "most favorite" comedian just so happened to make a name for himself, by using the very same "N-Word" when referring to other blacks.
I HOPE TONY'S BOOK SELLS EVEN MORE THAN HE EVER DREAMED IT COULD!
Thanks for all you did for the Vikings, Tony!!! You dah man!
Denise does NOT want the book published........the Goldmans do and are publishing the book. Denise calls it blood money.
