Growing Pains





When Mother wishes to take a Nap, she shall not be denied
It also means that it is a judicious time to hide
For I am a young and curious Kitten whose World is all around
Begging close inspection through cautious leaps and bounds
For learning what things are and how they work is exactly what Kittens do

Always looking for something that is intriguing as well as new
There are lots of Things to paw and sniff throughout my busy Day
That add a hint of Adventure when I'm out and about at Play
Always savored to its utmost when Mother is away
Until the time rolls round when Mother nips me well below my ears

To carry me off to Mother's Kitten Bed, a thought that I'll admit, endears
It's not long before I'll be checking to see if Mother is truly dreaming
Though it's an even money bet that she is certain that I am scheming
To slip away unnoticed and leap silently to the Floor
So I can roam around through Shadows and happily explore some more
