“Also, don’t fool yourself into thinking that when you lack the power to reform your own party, you somehow have the power to launch and control a new party...”

Warned as we were, about political parties (factions) by James Madison (Federalist #10), there is little else to do but work within that framework. I am going to rattling a few GOP cages in the upcoming months, from the very bottom of the cage, the county level.

well, last night I went to a Ron Paul meetup (my first) here in Vegas and there were some 20-30 hard core lifelong republicans working to support Ron Paul. They were antigovernment, antisocialism, and antiliberal.

Anyone using wiki to prove anything is off on the wrong road from the start.

Guess who runs, posts, edits and moderates wiki?

Now this post wins the “Silly Argument of the Day” award!

We can and indeed should judge every candidate by who he/she is ideologically aligned with.

Would you make this same argument to defend those aligned with Karl Marx? Or Hitler?

How funny!!! (in a sad sort of way)

This is your best defense? Just because Marxists rally behind Marx doesn’t make Marx a Marxist??? LOL

I’ve been following your posts and I must say, it scares the hell out of me that you have the right to vote...

There are 142 citations on that page... whomever made it did a great deal of research, did the job the media won’t do. Check it out; if there is something innaccurate or that you disagree with I’ll be happy to conceed.

Ron Paul can not score better than 3%

Gosh.....he thought that he was "a one percenter." I guess even his critics are backing off from that.

“Given the current climate no GOP candidate can win the general election without pulling support traditionally Democratic voters.”

True, in a way. But here’s the trick, it has to be conservative, traditional Democrat voters, not liberal. Some people have proven that can be done, Reagan in ‘80-’84 and Gingrich, in the Republican rout in ‘94. Neither of them did it by moving left, but by being right, very right. It was up to other GOP “members” to sully or destroy those gains.

It’s the ONLY explanation...

It couldn't be the war, of course. Victor Davis Hanson (the all-seeing one) has made it clear since 2003 that has been one long story of continuous "good news."

From the opening paragraph of the column...

“Ron Paul supporters are fast making a name for themselves on the web. Not because they are just web savvy, but because they have proven themselves to be the best at hacking on-line polls, invalidating conservative polling data on behalf of their candidate.”

The issue is indeed hacking into for the purpose of spamming on-line polls....

And the evidence is everywhere, for those interested in reality.

Continue down your path to discredit yourself if you like...

Quote the section of the article where this evidence is found. Since it's "everywhere", I assume you'll be back within a few minutes....

Real reform must start at the bottom and work it’s way up. Nobody at the top wants to reform...

If we can’t reform our own party, then we can’t reform the country.

Further, we must return to operating by constitutional majority. This requires a two party system. Three or more assures rule by a constitutional minority, as was the case from 1992 through 2000.

Not strong on fighting the drug problem: Legalize industrial hemp. (Jan 2007) - Voted NO on military border patrols to battle drugs & terrorism. (Sep 2001) - Voted NO on subjecting federal employees to random drug tests. (Sep 1998) - Legalize medical marijuana. (Jul 2001

More proof that Paul is the only candidate who is truly against the federal nanny state. How can anyone with common sense by for the failed drug on wars? Not even the Bush admininistration is seriously fighting it in Afghanistan (now that Karzai supporters profit from illegal drugs.) Those who believe in a massive big federal leviathan, of course, hate Paul's defense of individual rights on this issue.

I found those paragraphs interesting too, because the author is not questioning the policies, but rather the intentions of the supporters of those policies. Sort of like how the left says republicans are greedy cuz they (at least the principles ones) don’t support so called ‘antipoverty’ distributist legislation; ignoring that these republicans (mostly) care about the poor the same as the left, they just understand government hurts more than it helps in this regard, and in fact hurts the poorest of the poor by their (the govs) actions. So, I think one should always start with the premise that peoples’ motives are pure, as going down the road this author starts down doesn’t particularly set the tone for rational discussion.

We could waste time on this thread dissecting your posts and relating them to BRAINWASHING - but then you would be successful in changing the subject.

We are talking about the Ron Paul problem here folks. Don’t let the King of the Fairies protect his leader Ron Paul with distractions. It is part of their game.

Yet they were supporting a candidate who is a social liberal, a national security nightmare and a fiscally confused libertarian...?

“So you are saying that you would rather support a candidate that incites hated than to support a candidate who can being in voters from the left?”

As an original Reagan Democrat (read my FR profile) I would have no problem supporting a Republican candidate that can attract conservative Democrats, and there are still allot of them out there. But one who attracts lefties who get their kicks out of holding die-ins in front of the Army recruiting station? No thanks

No you won’t...

Damn those Paul spammers! How devious they are. They even sent computer generated images to win those straw polls while and unfairly kept the Fredheads at home by getting the local station to re-run old "Law and Order" episodes and "No Way Out."

We can and indeed should judge every candidate by who he/she is ideologically aligned with.

Oh? So you're saying that because Klansmen mostly vote for Bush, Bush is a Klansman?

How sad!!! (in a funny sort of way) The truth is, there's a big difference between "Who votes for you" and "Who you are ideologically aligned with." Just because there are some libs who favor Paul in the primaries (mostly because they see him as unelectable) doesn't make Paul a liberal.

But all this hot-air debate could be rendered moot in ten minutes if the Republicans would only do one simple thing:

RUN A CANDIDATE WHO WILL PURSUE CONSERVATIVE GOALS.

Like limiting spending. Remember that? It used to be a conservative goal. Oh, and shrinking government. Heck, how about even stopping the growth of government? How about even slowing the growth of government?

These used to be things that Republicans cared about, along with federalism, individual rights, elimination of burdensome federal agencies, cutting taxes, advancing a constructionist reading of the constitution...and over the last eight years the GOP has held more power than at any time since McKinley was shot, and what do we have to show for it?

In terms of conservative goals, pretty much nothing. Thanks a lot, guys.
