BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Iraqi forces detained the suspected leader of a terrorist cell network believed to be funded by Saddam Hussein's eldest daughter, who is wanted by Iraqi authorities on terrorism charges, the U.S. military announced Monday.
The raid happened Sunday in Hussein's hometown of Tikrit. It was carried out by Iraqi forces, advised by U.S. Special Forces, the military said.
The network, believed to be funded by Raghad Hussein, has been "linked to a series of attacks on coalition forces" using rocket-propelled grenades and roadside bombs, the military said.
"These attacks have claimed the lives of numerous Soldiers and Airmen," a military statement said.
Other leaders of the network have been detained in previous raids, the military said.

This CNN story is also notable because it's title places 'quotes' around the word terrorist, implying that the term may not be appropriate in this case.
I sometimes get chewed out for calling them ragheads and here they are naming them as such.
If Bush was serious about winning the war this broad would be with uday and qusay right now.
Why can’t we close her bank account and freeze her assets?
I’m sure our government has already thought of this...but where else would she keep the blood money she inherited from her father, and now using to kill innocents in iraq?

The timing of this is enigmatic. That is, about one week ago, Iraq requested that she be extradited from Jordan, which the Jordanians then refused. And *then* they bust her money man in Iraq. This is no coincidence.
I have a feeling that we gave Jordan an opportunity to save face, by making her either cut it out or kicking her out entirely. They refused, so we are airing their dirty laundry to dispel any illusions that they are truly neutral.
Diplomatically, that is a bad loss for Jordan, and undercuts their position in the future.
From the article:
She has been living in Jordan under the protection of the royal family

If Jordan was more of a team player in the War On Terror, that would most likely be no problem at all.
Which terrorist cell? Baathist, Sunni, al-Qaeda?

Excellent, thoughtful analysis; thank you for posting.
So often these backward regimes conduct themselves so childishly. Jordan is in the process of getting it's nose bloodied in this brawl, which hopefully will undercut the power, or at least the cachet, of the Islamists in their Government.
Unfortunately, CNN is being true to form and did not supply any such relevant details in this minimal article.
