Washington D.C. 8/27/2007 5:20 PM GMT (FINDITT - Top Story)
USAElectionPolls.com has an audience of about 67,000 visitors per month according to the latest statistics by Quantcast -- making it the most visited polling website with the exception of RealClearPolitics. The web site has been having an online straw poll for three days on voters' preference for the 2008 election; both Democrats and Republicans are listed.
Ron Paul is leading the group of almost 20 candidates with 51%. Even more impressive is that he currently has 1744 votes while the second place candidate Dennis Kucinich has 613 votes -- 18%. Ron Paul leads the next closest Republican competitor in the online poll 51% to 3%.
Ordinarily, very little can be made of such results. They could be flukes. The web site's target audience could be Ron Paul, etc. But USAElectionPolls.com gets an immense amount of traffic all across the United States and it is a non-partisan website that talks about all of the candidates.
The poll is still open and can be found on the front page.

No, he really doesn’t.

Admin Moderator, feel free to weigh in.
As usual, you hunt for scalps from those who won't kowtow and agree with your opinions.
Again, you've pulled this so many times no one could possibly be surprised by it. I'm sure if I really looked, I could find at least a dozen such incidents in the last month.

none of the other candidates can summon a fraction of this kind of grassroots commitment consistently. The only other candidates I can think of with true grassroots support is Fred and Obama. And Obama has peaked as more of his supporters realize that he's just an empty suit being pimped by guilty white liberals in the MSM and Democrat Party.
Fred hasn't declared yet, he'll likely get the traditional rank-and-file Republican voters.

every last FReeper knew that all these polls are nothing but a libmedia propaganda tool designed to move public opinion, particularly if the public holds an opinion but not strongly. Yeah, all of a sudden polls are objective now and are the gospel. Just three years ago FReepers were railing against polls showing Bush in the gutter.
FReepers have been so brainwashed by the establishment who promote politics as usual & party hacks it's beyond pathetic. These are the same folks:
(1) Only Arnold can win in California, McClintock is too conservative
(2) Toomey can't win, Arlen Specter is better than nothing, the incumbent must always be supported.
(3) Chaffee will at least give the GOP control over the Senate committees, so he should be supported.
(4) Katherine Harris can't win, she ain't conservative. Bah!
The fire and passion of conservatism that used to be the hallmark of this website has been replaced by complacency and blind party loyalty.

Did he vote for it in the final budget though.

“But you have no problem when FReepers used to “FReep” other internet polls, right?”
We do that for a joke and we know better than to believe the spammed results.
At your request, I changed my tag line. Like this one better?

Hes a libertarian. FYI I spelled libertarian with the small l on purpose. I will give him props as a Republican, but not a conservative, a libertarian Republican. So being a devout Christian and pro-life still ain't conservative enough, I take it.
I'll take the small-l libertarian over the sack of feces RINO socialists that constitutes 90% of the GOP now.

"Straw poll" in this case may refer to contents of skulls.

Some of us have jobs and kids. According to the Paul bashers we live in the basement, with reruns of Beavis and Butthead playing in the background and 3 day old remains of Taco Bell adjacent to the keyboard.

I tend to agree but we'll see when he runs. It's getting late for him and a bad slip or just a bad appearance or two could really pierce his chances. Not that I'm craving that. Of the other top candidates, Fred may be considerably better than Mitt, almost has to be better than McStain or that leftwing transsexual mayor.
As I've said before, I'm going to try to vote GOP if at all possible (but no Rudi as nominee). Even if RP can't get the nomination, I will definitely try to support our nominee. If our guy is given a fair shot, then we are obligated to be loyal to the party whose nomination we seek. It's not a game where you get to take your ball and go home.

Great list.
It worries me more when FReepers seem to routinely accept libmedia polls as unbiased and accurate sources instead of the propaganda that they truly are. Just because in the last weeks before an election, they adjust the 'glide path' of the polls so they match up to the voters isn't proof that the polls aren't used as a whip to drive forward the Left's agenda.

LOL! What a degenerate dirtbag Craig is.
The RNC should have some kind of Internal Affairs Bureau set up to thoroughly investigate each person the state GOPs are putting up for national office.
This kind of crap has to stop.
