Border Patrol Chief Rejects Mission Against Aliens, Drugs
The Washington Times ^ | August 26, 2007 | By Sara A. Carter

A Border Patrol chief at one of the nation's most dangerous Southwest border crossings says the agency's mission doesn't include apprehending illegal aliens or seizing narcotics — perplexing front-line agents and angering a congressional critic of illegal immigration.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again," Carlos X. Carrillo, Border Patrol chief of Laredo, Texas, told guests at a town-hall meeting Thursday. "The Border Patrol's job is not to stop illegal immigrants. The Border Patrol's job is not to stop narcotics. ... The Border Patrol's mission is not to stop criminals.

"The Border Patrol's mission is to stop terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the country."

Law-enforcement agencies consider Laredo to be one of the Southwest's most dangerous border crossings. It is the sister city of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, which is controlled by one of that country's most ruthless drug-smuggling rings.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican, called for Mr. Carrillo's resignation Friday. He also questioned how the recently appointed official could tell the difference between an illegal alien and a terrorist.

"If the Border Patrol has developed a new technology that can distinguish between terrorists and other illegal border crossers without first catching them and checking them out, that is good news," said Mr. Tancredo, an outspoken critic of illegal immigration and a presidential candidate. "But if that is not the case, Mr. Carrillo's statements are extremely irresponsible and demoralizing to officers in the field."

T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, a union representing 12,000 front-line agents, said he was baffled by the Laredo chief's statements.

"It is shocking that such a high-ranking official would make a statement that is so completely at odds with the law and the Border Patrol's mission,"

if only all the people who know would take action.

But they are, BQ...it's intentionally adverse actions they are taking.

The people “who know” i.e., those in power and can do something, are doing the very things that are bad for this country, our sovereignty, and our people.

I’d like to know how “foreign governments” or an “international” body has anything to say about our waters and ocean areas?

Nic, I believe that by if only all the people who know would take action, B.Q. was suggesting that the people (i.e., citizens) who know the extent of corruption and treason in our government should take action. I don't believe she was referring to the quisling politicians.

With that aside, your E.O. 13366 is horrifying -- having 'foreign governments' and 'international organizations' allowed a say in waterways such as our own Great Lakes, etc. It brings back not-so-fond memories of Clinton's granting foreign entities a say regarding our national parks and forests.

Damn those who would sell our republic out from under us for the furtherance of a political agenda!

oh...BQ was referring to us serfs, lol! *grins*

Thanks to processing please hold for tipping us off to that Executive Order.

Ronald Reagan, who did everything possible to stop this kind and other such types of international treaties, must be rolling over in his grave....as are the Founding Fathers.

You're not looking at it through one worlder eyes, nic. Once you do that, everything that's happening in our country today will fall into place.

From our non existent borders, school indoctrination , jobs, gay rights, killing God, contempt for Christian families, our RTKBA, smoking, fatty foods, etc, etc, etc.

Don't smirk about the smoking and fatty foods on the things I've listed. Ever hear of the smoking nazis or food nazis?

Take away a right here and a right there, a little at a time.
