C'mon, you gotta admit they're not near as much fun as Al or Dean. Or even Kerry. Even though Edwards was his VP candidate, Kerry was the moron who actually said "but we have better hair!" And I can't see Ron Paul screaming a nice, cleansing, "AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH" to 200 million people, as Dean did.
We had a better class of village idiot in those days (**sigh**)
...or maybe I'm just gettin' old
...Or recognize that the Mexican border is not the end all, be all of flipping human existence, know that walls have two sides : they keep the infidels, the foreign devils out while keeping citizens IN and all Paul supporters are too stupid to realize it or remember the lessons of the former Soviet Union. You can bitch, you can scream, you can yell and call for the president to be lynched, but if you have your wall while another Clinton is in power, you will be NOTHING but Waco-ed.
Period.
Well, if you are talking about walls and securing the Mexican and Canadian borders and the ports, that would be most patriotic and intelligent Americans who support a secure border: 70 - 90%. So as much as you may blither and flail and try to convince yourself that a never-ending, politically correct, overseas war is good, securing the American border is bad, and Bush is a god, you are in a very tiny minority there.
I'm for enforcing our existing laws, because anything else is logistically impossible. I am virulently opposed to closed borders. Aren't a couple of hundred million dead people enough to prove that totalitarianism does not equal "national security"?? And THOSE are the loudest screamers. If you do not agree with their opinions, I am sorry, you're not screaming loudly enough...though I can see why, since I'm now a "globalist" for opposing "closed borders". But I still support Hunter AND Thompson, should he decide to run.
All I wanted were valid, workable, border security suggestions from people whom I mostly agree with, but not many wanted to debate - they only want to dictate. They chased away anyone who'd listen, which is a shame.
HEY, Georgia won the Little League World Series!!
And the Houston Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys in pre-season NFL last night!
I know pre-season isn't a big deal, but anytime Houston beats Dallas, it's WAY cool. :-D
Well, if you're from Houston it is, anyway...
BTTT
Good! So am I! I think we could build a wall if we wanted to (you know, being a great country and all that), but in general I am not for that. I think a lot of times, a "closed border" is a figure of speech?
Did you hear Jerry Jones say 400 feet was a quarter of a mile when he was being interviewed at halftime? WOW!
Jerry Jones wasn’t making any sense during the interview. The new stadium arches he was trying to describe are 300 feet high and span 1290 feet.
They did it in Georgia, those bastards.
Sorry, but MoveOn.org?
Why in the world is Ron Paul the only Republican attracting the Leftist fringe? Explain that.
Which is why he’s never polled more than 3%.
It would appear that the remaining 265 members of the Pasadena Ron Paul Meetup group have no interest in a MoveOn.org anti-war rally. Given that eight RP Meetup members responded and we will assume for purposes of discussion that they all actually wished to attend and protest the war, that would mean that just barely 3% of the Pasadena Ron Paul Meetup group has any interest in anti-war protests or MoveOn rallies.
First, we have the original post page. It consists of only three posts, all by the event organizer, Karsten.
Second, we have Karsten himself. A college junior, flips between Dim, indie, Libertarian, Republican, etc. He's managed to register as a lot of things for a guy who's only voted in one presidential election. Notice his own signup date of August 18th. Karsten himself has only been a member of the Ron Paul Meetup there for less than ten days (but is inviting people to "invade" a MoveOn anti-war event). Karsten would seem to be as much an "invader" of the Ron Paul Meetup as any of the Pasadena group are "invaders" of a MoveOn event.
Third, we have the responses to Karsten's invitation. One RSVP besides Karsten himself (the guy with the anti-war jerky). Four said "maybe" (only three are RP Meetup members. And three RSVP'd as "No".
“Ron Paul means well...but has become delusional...”
I think Ron Paul is fine... it’s some of his supporters who are well and truly out of their minds.
I am Karsten Nicholson, the author of the post that you are all talking about.
Dear freerepublic.com users:
Ron Paul is NOT a socialist.
He wants to ABOLISH the IRS.
He has NEVER voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He is strongly pro-life.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He strongly opposes government healthcare.
He led the Texas delegation for Ronald Reagan in 1976.
He is a traditional, libertarian-leaning conservative.
Ron Paul supporters are NOT all moveon members, but the freedom message brings people together. There are many former democrats in our campaign, as well as many Republicans, and many Independents.
Check him out yourself!!
