Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Ping to Post #14.

Have those cultists ever had an original idea?

I guess we should be flattered. ;-)

So what you are telling me is that YOU are a RON PAUL supporter who DISAGREES with the view/opinion of these self-proclaimed “Anti-war” Rob Paul supporters?

I'm saying that the nature of Paul's campaign is attracting its share of fringe lunatics, but somehow you guys distort that and automatically imply that Paul's a kook too.

These meet-up groups and everything else (including Paul merchandise which is sold at-cost and proceeds not given to Paul's campaign) is done independently from Paul's campaign.

Get used to it....your guy is in that 'bottom of the cellar' group, too.

Sure he is. That's why he has the largest grass-roots support outside of Fred Thompson.

My FRiend.. I did not say ONE negative thing about Ron Paul.. nor did I claim that he approves of or endorces this particular effort of some of his supporters.... yet you come on this thread and trash Duncan Hunter? Do you support the efforts of this group or not? That is the topic of the thread my FRiend.

Respectfully,

David

So you are saying that the message and efforts of this particular group of Ron Paul supporters are NOT consistent with your views or the views of your candidate?

How is this disinformation?

Sounds like harsh reality to me, just a reality you don’t want people to discuss.

The only thing better than MoveOn supporters backing Ron Paul would be CAIR making an endorsement. LOL.

Okay, I wish Hunter was doing better, but “establishment choice”? You’ll need to explain that one.

I have found from previous personal experience, that the first to inject the specter of Nazi propaganda (your “make Goebbels blush.”) is usually the weakest side of any argument or discussion.

Those who won’t argue facts because they fear the truth, resort to insult and smear.

Unless you mistyped Goebbels and meant to type Gobel, as in George, quite a good comedy actor, who would blush to make the audience laugh.

The Paul bashers are engaging in the same disinformation and smear campaign. They’d make Goebbel’s blush.

One would think they'd be out campaigning for their men instead of belittling and smearing other candidates and supporters.

I read the post and cannot see where this is a Ron Paul bash. David is asking if the Ron Paul supporters here on FR plan to attend the MoveOn.org rallies. Are you? What are your thoughts on this strategy?

This truly speaks volumes about what these so-called FReepers who are relentless in their cultish crusade for Ron Paul are really about.

My FRiend.. I did not say ONE negative thing about Ron Paul.. nor did I claim that he approves of or endorces this particular effort of some of his supporters....

You went digging for dirt and posted a disingenous piece (BTW, this isn't "News/Activism") about anti-war moonbats encouraging Paul supporters to join them. That's just as bad as regurgitating the anti-Paul talking points since anti-war kooks are not really a part of Paul's base of supporters.

yet you come on this thread and trash Duncan Hunter? Do you support the efforts of this group or not? That is the topic of the thread my FRiend.

No I don't support it, but that isn't the issue. You're playing the old guilt-by-association game. MoveOn moonbats try to snooker Paul supporters? Why, that means Paul's in bed with MoveOn.org! What's next? Cindy Sheehan says she likes Paul? WHY THAT MEANS PAUL'S IN BED WITH SHEEHAN!
