Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

when it suits you to justify Paul’s vote for action in Afghanistan. But when it comes to Iraq, suddenly it is not mere semantics and it was the principled decision not to support it? Is that about the size of it?

The administration sat around and diddled on Iraq trying to build up a "consensus" from the "international community." Paul knew exactly where it was going & that's why he voted against it. That's far different than Afghanistan when the objectives were clear and we needed to strike back.

So you haven't answered why Bush didn't simply declare war against Islamic terrorism from the get-go, instead of holding the Prince of Saud's hand and claiming that Islam is a religion of peace, among other things.

And you’re a quisling, lick-spittle for al Qaeda.

You don't engage in honest debate. You rattle off nonsense like Paul is in bed with Al Qaeda, for example.

You're nobody. You're the gum that's on the sole of my tennis shoes right now.

Oh, he’s in bed with them. He’s willingly offering to surrender to them, and you’re willing to vote for him and fight with conservatives and undermine the war effort. And you’re willing to do this the same way some people helped the Nazis, Imperial Japan, and the communists. Objectively, you’re aiding our enemies by backing a man who publicly says he’ll turn over land we paid for in blood to al Qaeda. That’s what you are.

“Remember the 1986 immigration amnesty? One of its beneficiaries was Mahmoud abu Halima, who went on to bomb the World Trade Center in 1993. His friend Mohammad Salameh wasn’t so fortunate. He applied for the ‘86 amnesty but was rejected. So he just stayed on in America, living illegally, and happily was still around to help Mahmoud and co-attack the Twin Towers. He’s the guy who rented the truck, which suggests he had enough ID to get past the rental agent at Ryder.”

And you support spending billions of dollars in what could be a decades-long, open-ended committment to a region that's been in turmoil since the dawn of time.

There's always going to be terrorists, elhombrelibre (What are you, a Mexican wrestler or something). Regardless if we leave immediately or stay there for another 100 years there's always going to be terrorists. Of course, securing the borders and kicking out radical Islamists here means nothing to you. We should just continue to fight, wear down our military, leave the borders open, let the Islamists open their mosques here and demand rights they aren't entitled to here, etc.

And people like you used to say there’d always be Nazis, and there’d always be Communists. There are a thousand reasons for people like you to surrender. One of them is you have no backbone, just a will to annoy your neighbors. No, I’m not a Mexican. Why?

A lot of them are David Duke admirers. I have my suspicions on a few of them.
