A man believed to be the boy’s father grabbed the child and said, “This is why I don’t take you anywhere,” before disappearing into the crowd, the newspaper said.

That’s it? How about putting the kid to work to earn money to pay for the snake? Alot of parents I know have made their kids pay for things they broke (although I don’t know anyone with a child as vicious as this one). How about grounding him til he’s thirty after he gets the butt-whooping of his life? The adult with the child obviously had absolutely no control over him.

And the ethics and morals of a snake. Running away from the responsibility of his son's actions teaches his son to be irresponsible.

Dad avoided that law suit. Anyone know what an albino Burmese python costs?

A point I was going to make. What should have happened, the father should have stayed there with the child and accepted responsibility for what happened. What the child learned was, he killed the snake and could just walk away from the results of his actions.

Parents with no sense of personal responsibility breed children with no sense of personal responsibility . . .

You might be amazed how prevalent this is in American society today.
