Thats BS I have seen local law enforcement take their oath it curtails following the US constitution foriegn and domestic.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but what it sounds like is that you would like to see Fresno police stop people on the street to verify their immigration status. It also sounds like you’d like them to pull people over and check their status as well. Should they also go to K-12 schools and check out the kids, then go to their homes and pick up the parents? Should they raid businesses in town?
How much time to you think should be devoted to this? Would you like to see 25, 50, 75% or more of an officer’s shift devoted to this?
There are probably thousands of illegals in Fresno. It would take months to make a dent. During that time other police duties would be ignored.
Officers today spend time on the most important crimes. Do we simply let those crimes rot? Do we tell the officers to quit making those felony arrests, filling out reports for for them and allow the citizens of Fresno to be a the felony perps mercy?
Look, if we demand enforcement by the feds, deny government funded benefits and start taking people that hire them down, the illegals will repatriate on their own. And that’s what all of us want.
