Posted on 08/24/2007 11:26:22 PM PDT by SIDENET
This is a weird first thread, but can someone help me here? I was searching google and found posts to "fredrepublic.com". When I clicked on the link, it took me to Freerepublic, but the address still read: "fredrepublic.com". Does anyone know how long this has existed? Check for yourself.
Link.

Are you sure it is not a phishing site? Be sure not give them your credit card number.

I remember someone doing this back in Feb. or March, but I don’t remember who it was.
Any of the FredHeads want to take credit for this?

When I tried it I used only “fredrepublic.com” and google asked me if I meant freerepublic and posted this site and others.
I am assuming google did that for you and you ended up here per google’s search. I see you have browse etc. after your inquiry link also suggesting this is what happened.

I dunno’, but it IS a nice slight of handy work. LOL
Being that I’m a FRedhead, I think it’s cool. Were I Mr. Robinson, I doubt that I would be of that same opinion.
Nice work, though. :)

No matter how hard I try, when entering fredrepublic.com I get the same request if I want free republic. It list fredrepublic (and links to) as a bookstore.
on the other hand freedrepublic.com/focus/browse comes back here. And I have seen posts with this browse etc. that link here also.
is interesting.
