REDHEADS are becoming rarer and could be extinct in 100 years, according to genetic scientists.
The current National Geographic magazine reports that less than two per cent of the world's population has natural red hair, created by a mutation in northern Europe thousands of years ago.
Global intermingling, which broadens the availability of possible partners, has reduced the chances of redheads meeting and producing little redheads of their own.
It takes only one red-haired parent to produce ginger-headed babies, but two redheads obviously create a much stronger possibility.
If the gingers really want to save themselves they should move to Scotland.
An estimated 40 per cent of Scots carry the red gene and 13 per cent actually have red hair.
Some experts say that redheads could be gone as early as 2060, but others say the gene can be dormant for generations before returning.

The most famous red-headed movie star of all is...... MAUREEN O’HARA.
Most of the red-heads people have posted are day-walkers. So am I. Day-walkers are those with reddish, but not bright red hair. They may have some small freckles, but not the big kind that merge into huge blotches.
Most people tend to like people who have partly exotic traits. It’s instinctive. It guarantees good gene mixing. Name a sexy black woman. Odds are you thought of a woman who is racially mixed, even if you are black. Even many famously attractive Asian woman are half white. But it’s true among white people, too. True gingers have very harsh feature: shocking, orange hair; freckles that run into blotches, and often very odd-shaped noses and chins. Toning down the harsh “ginger” features makes for very sexy women, though.
It’s human nature: we like genetic diversity to parent our children, but we also like people who don’t look too different.
Not on her head anyway...
So they’re sitting with the family doctor trying to figure out why their kid has red hair when they both have blonde hair.
The doctors asked them about their sexual habits.
They replied that they have sex at least once every other month.
The doctor responded immediately with the answer - RUST!
Thank you, thank you very much. Please tip your waitress. :-)
In South Park episode Ginger Kids (don't go there unless you want to see the usual South Park crude humor) Cartman goes on an anti-redhead rant. He used the term daywalker for people with red hair but not light skin or freckles. The term was originally used in vampire stories for vampires who could come out during the day time.
Can they all sing?
I always knew we were the smart ones!

I was thinking Ann Margarett.
Thanks!!
I'm not sure all this is natural, but just darn anyway...
You’re welcome (I live for that!)
that is because dark skin and dark hair are dominant as our society mixes the recessive with the dominant traits, the recessive will become more rare.
funny how we say certain races are more diverse when I went to japan all I saw was dark hair and light skin with dark eyes. no diversity there. they almost looked all the same.
same with the latinos, dark skin dark hair brown eyes. now that is diverse
I heard there will be no more blondes in 50 years.
My, she’s come a LONG way since Dune, hasn’t she?
