“I’m guessing it had more to do with the game, than the bible.”

My thoughts as well. I read of groups sending bibles for some time now.

I>What were the packages to contain? … Rather, they held Bibles, proselytizing material in English and Arabic and the apocalyptic computer game "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" (derived from the series of post-Rapture novels), in which "soldiers for Christ" hunt down enemies who look suspiciously like U.N. peacekeepers.<,I>

I’m sorry, I have to agree that this was not appropriate.

It’s not our Military’s mission or job to proselytize Christian or any other religious beliefs to anyone. I always understood it was our Military’s prime objective to protect us, US citizens from threats abroad by killing the bad guys.

I have no problem with soldiers who are Christians and who request them, receiving Bibles for their personal use and comfort.

But if a person in the Military has a strong calling to proselytize Christianity and his or her personal beliefs, then he or she should resign and become a missionary instead.

Yep, the American Bible Society sends Bibles to service personnel.
