Gee, this wouldn’t have anything to do with the Muzzies taking over, would it? It seems wherever they go, economic downturns follow.

The article maybe 4 months old; the news is even more timely now. Michigan is in serious trouble. Time to raise taxes...

Trust me, it’s VERY old news here in Michigan.

I’m looking nation-wide for a job now... anyone need a good computer geek? A local headhunter told me that our unemployment rate for IT people was 2% — everyone who needed a job in IT either left the state, or changed careers.

This cannot be pluasibly blamed on George W. Bush, and even local Democrats realize this. It’s a failure of their own Governor (Jennifer Granholm) and governance.

Clearly, Michigan’s socialist Canadian governor, needs to raise taxes, to attract jobs and stimulate job growth.

The governor stresses investing more in education and job training to develop a talented work force, funded by a new tax on services, while GOP leaders are calling for tax cuts and a leaner state government to lure more business.

Well..of the two I'd have to say the govenor's idea makes more sense if it was done well but what's really needed is a Right to Work law.

“‘One-state recession’ hampers Michigan”

I’d love to slam Michigan, especially Detroit, Flint, and all the
other urban wastelands.

But this is just...SAD.

This is still a part of the USA (I hope).
Even with way-too-many Muslims and an effectively Canadian governor.

I look at old black-and-white photos of the River Rouge Ford complex,
contemplate the Mustang, Barracuda, Charger and other grand motor
cars birthed in Michigan.
All the harder-than-nails trucks and armaments that won WWII, Korea
and held the line during The Cold War.

And what I hear/see of Michigan today almost makes me weep.

It's always the automaker's fault but not the socialist bureaucrats and Canadian Governor fault.

I don't understand why William Clay Ford or any of the other auto execs never run for Governor.

Been thinking of purchasing a summer place in the Upper. Guess I’ll rethink that for now.
Don’t need to buy a property there and have it taxed to death to pay for Detroit.

The problem with Michigan is that we are entrepreneur hostile. The majority of jobs don’t come from big companies but from small ones and especially from startups. The SBT kills any desire for a small business may have to move to Michigan and it is choking the ones we have. You may have made no profit at all in a year but you still will owe this value added tax.
Add in the labor problems caused by not having a right to work law and we are up a creek with nary a paddle in sight.

I just want everyone to know, west Michigan sucks. Especially near the lake, like St. Joseph’s. Don’t go there. You will regret it. Please stay away. I don’t want to see any of you near there. I’m warning you ...
