We should not be so dismissive.
Remember the Doctors were all laughing when that Australian Doctor said ulcers were caused by a bacteria. They stopped laughing after he infected himself creating stomach ulcers and then cured himself. He won the nobel prize for medicine.
This is not for all obesity but if we can eliminate this one form then those that remain will be the emotional/self imposed obesity.
Exactly.
Good point.
Why are skinny people able to eat whatever they want? And not gain weight?
Why are there no drugs to affect your metabolism?
Being dismissive around here is commonplace.
Thank you. We're sooooo into personal responsibility here, that we knee-jerk to anything that flies in the face of that. It reminds me of the belief during the Middle Ages that sickness was some sort of divine retribution on a person.
Then we learned about germs.
It is far from established that there is any such form of obesity. My money is on the obvious fact that fat people typically eat far too much and exercise too little.
It is rather astonishing that folks would dismiss these findings: "that obese people were three times more likely to have been infected with Ad-36 than thin people in a large study of humans."
As the researchers said, there are many other factors involved as well. But a 3x disparity is very significant.
