A 24-year-old man believed to be the ringleader in the startling, execution-style killings of three college students in Newark will be arraigned today in Prince George's County District Court.
Rodolfo Godinez was arrested Saturday in Oxon Hill after a extensive search by Newark and federal authorities that led to the arrest of his 16-year-old half brother later that day in Woodbridge, VA. Yesterday, Newark police arrested an 18-year-old man in Elizabeth, N.J.
"Now, the process of healing must take center stage and the prosecution of the case begins," Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker said..
Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy credited local law enforcement authorities in Maryland, Virginia and the District for helping with the arrests. Godinez was found in a fetid, three-bedroom apartment in Oxon Hill; his half brother was arrested about 20 minutes later in the basement of a townhouse at Grist Mill Terrace in Woodbridge.
...Newark police pieced the case together with the help of MySpace, where the 16-year-old suspect had a page. Information on his page revealed that he had left New Jersey and listed friends in Virginia.
Although the page has been removed, The Washington Post has a saved version of it, showing the young man in sunglasses and a bandanna making a gang sign. On the page, he claimed to be a member of Guanacos Little Cycos Salvatruchos, part of the Latino gang MS-13 with ties to Northern Virginia. He noted his occupation as "smoke Piff" and his income as "$250,000 and higher..."
A man who was at the Oxon Hill apartment at the time of Godinez's arrest said Godinez had talked about being a member of MS-13. Newark police and other authorities say, however, that they have found no gang link to the killings...

“How dare they arrest this man.”
What is this liberal obsession with "healing"?
It gets better. He also said, “This crime will not define our city.” Sorry. Too late. This crime now defines your city, your ability to defend the interests of your citizens, your sanctuary policy, and your general muddle-headedness, mayor. Healing will not occur until those facts change.
I know. I about barfed at that cliched buzzword (which is easy, since I’m pregnant and have all-day sickness!).
Just a few weeks ago I read a profile of this guy. He sounded great. He walked on water. Yeah, it sounded a little bit like a puff piece, but I thought maybe he was capable of doing great things. But as I have learned more about him I've come to believe that he is an empty suit.
Also, after this killing occurred, I saw him interviewed on TV. He and the reporter were walking down the street, talking about crime. Was the mayor concerned to be out in public? "Oh, no. The city is really very safe."
Then I looked behind him on the screen. Two big bodyguards were walking 10 feet behind. Their eyes were evverywhere, constantly looking out for trouble. They sure didn't act like the city was very safe.
Actually, isn't this where the process of hurting takes center stage? And long may it be so...
Believe I heard on WABC Radio this morning that all of these suspects were illegal aliens. Surprise surprise!
Cory Booker benefits from comparisons to his predecessor, Sharpe James.
It’s kind of like Mrs. Gridlock (AKA My Favorite Liberal) once told me, after a particularly disasterous family get-together, “Just because my sister’s husband is a tremendous jerk doesn’t mean you are gonna get off easy.”
I heard that this guy and his half brother were “Nicaraguan nationals”. Whether that makes them illegal, I don’t know...
One of them is a birthright citizenship baby. Same difference.
Is Newark a sanctuary city?
The Post suppresses the fact that the killer is an illegal alien. Par for the course.
Some are illegal (at least one has been here since he was 11 though) and the younger ones were born here to an illegal.
And yes, Newark is a sanctuary city. But really, the whole state of New Jersey is a sactuary state due to rulings at the state level.
Illegal Immigrant Sanctuary Protects Murderer
Dozens of cities across the nation offer illegal immigrant sanctuaries. One of them is Newark, New Jersey. Had this city contacted federal immigration officials after illegal alien Jose Carranzas first felony indictment for raping a five-year old, he would have been deported and therefore prevented from later murdering three youngsters in a schoolyard.
The murders have fueled further outrage over the governments failure to stem the tide of invasion from the south. I guess these immigrants are doing the crimes Americans are unwilling to do, said one disgusted Newark resident who requested his name not be published.

Until they can be deported, it’s too bad that we can’t make all the illegal aliens stay in these “sanctuary” areas, preferably places where gangs are prevalent, and let nature take its course.
and to compound that, the police chief is in denial. He has stated that the immigration status of some of the perpetrators is irrelevant.
There'a lot of that going around...
Area Police Without Policies on Illegal Aliens
I don't think it's a coinkydink that the perps in MD ended up where they did.
