My short attention span got me again. I get to the blah blah part of Am. 22 and my eyes glaze over. Thanks for driving a wooden stake through that Hope Arkansan “heart”.
Funny. Schieffer just called Karl Rove Senator Rove while talking to McCain. He immediately corrected himself.
I think Hillary wants to win. She would choose Hitler himself if she thought she could win with him.
If she selects a stand-up VP, and later he is sickened by Bill’s tomfoolery, she can always boot him out and replace him with a more domicile VP (like she did with the White House travel office).
Okay...here’s the English version of my reply ;^D:
Nominate Bubba AS Hillary’s VP and WATCH that Pandora’s box pop open! ;^D
I think we need an opinion from someone who has presented arguments before the court.
Oh, Congressman, can you offer an opinion of whether the combination of the 12th and 22nd amendments make Bill Clinton ineligible to be VP? The question is whether he could still be VP because, even though he couldnt be elected President he would be eligible to assume the office, unelected? IOW, he's only barred from being elected to the office of President, not offing his wife and assuming the job from the VP slot.
That formulation was posted by Wallaby in post #257
By George, I think he's got it!
A choice of Bill as her VP would provoke the MSM to make the valid arguments I’ve just made to defend the choice. The constitution does not say that you must be eligible to be elected president in order to be elected vice-president. It does say you must be eligible to be president in order to be vice-president. That said, team Clinton won’t put Bubba on the ticket. It would only put the dynasty concerns of her candidacy front and center.
Agree.
But even the MSM won't be able to shut down the opposition voices.
Another interesting note is that Rove said that it’s possible the party could choose a pro-choice candidate. He said as long as the candidates promises to appoint conservative judges and promotes adoptions and doesn’t do anything to reduce the gains that the Pro-life community has made, the GOP party might be pragmatic.
Sounds like Karl Rove didn’t dismiss a Guiliani nomination,
(but to be fair he didn’t endorse it either)...interesting.
Man, I need help. But all is not lost.....I've got a whole slew of folk on my side. They are sick of the RINO's running this state....and....
Ah, I know you'll find this hard to believe about me, but somehow I got myself in the middle of some big brouhaha and I've been slugging away.
I'm having a fine time and I think I'm changing some minds.
Below just one battle in my war. Explained in more detail below.
Pat, delegates to the state convention are ELECTED by the Regional Committees and are not appointed by anyone. Why dont you actually go to a meeting and meet some of these people you are maligning as hand picked by the party bosses. Your smoke room characters are as reliatic as the little green men living on Mars. Youre views are nothing but a compilation of your biases, rumor, and innuendo. It is obvious from your posts that you have never taken the time to get off your rear end and gather the facts by actually attending a meeting and getting to know people. Talk to Dave, Matt, and Brud at your next meeting in Georgetown. Rather than curse the darkness why dont you light one candle?
So okay, this was written on a Blog ran by the Sussex county Chairman of the RNC. He's a nice guy but his thinking's all screwed up.
The error of the above commenter's post was that, in fact, I have been VERY involved in First State Republican politics in that...I got two BIG businesses to put an ad in the annual RNC banquet booklet....two big businesses that they'd never have without me and they are HUGE businesses. Remember I told you folk I am a consultant and work for a lot of businesses down this way.
I also contributed a basket of my books to that banquet for their chinese auction, manned the front desk all night and even went around the floor selling chinese auction tickets.
I attended the monthly RNC meetings for the prior three months and go with me, I was right in the middle slapping these RINOs. I also talked to those folks he references above.
ALSO, I worked the Delaware State Fair for the RNC and had a blast. I saw Beau Biden...Joe's son....and was right across from Joe's booth.
My "crime" was (and reason for the above response) that I called this method of picking Republican candidates in Delaware a joke. See, here in Delaware, we don't have a primary. what we have is a bunch of delegates appointed by...well the commenter explains it. It's no matter. My argument is that anytime someone is "appointed" to be a delegate, they are beholden to vote for whom the appointer wants. In the past eight years, the Repubbie party in Delaware has had the worst candidates for governor and senator you can possibly imagine. There were some people who came forth wanting to run but no, they weren't good enough. Not that the ones THEY wanted were any better. One guy running for senator for the RNC got only 20% of the vote and was BEATEN BY AN INDEPENDENT!
So the base of the RNC here in Delaware is up in arms. And don't I go pointing out that this delegate system is not so good; that maybe the RNC members should be allowed to select.
Well these "delegates" got all up in arms and insulted, insisting that who they choose to be the nominee is their own choice; that they are not influenced by the party bigwigs in any way.
Yeah right.
See this attack on me is how political elites do. Us people of more common descent tend to look skeptical at appointed minions being independent, silly us. The solution is to attack she who attacks the status quo.
This guy had some pre-conceived notion that I must be some Sussex county skank who knows nothing like the royal "HE" understands. I told him, at times it is best to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
Well the thread continued on and as it turns out, there are quite a few Delaware pubbies who are sick of this system.
They're not going to get me down. I can write, I can talk and hey, I know a damn thing or two.
HEh.
David, in every war mistakes are made. War is about the hardest profession on any. I guess I am shocked by the ignorance and naivety expressed in these criticisms. In every profession mistakes are make. Look at your own profession. Operating under much less difficult circumstances, your colleagues have managed to either mis-report or unreported virtually every piece of positive data that has come out of Iraq. Look at you professions coverage of the Leabanon-Istrael war. Your profession reported as “news” stage managed terrorist PR events complete with faked pictures. I guess I cannot take too seriously the criticism of the Iraq mission made by people who display such shocking incompetence in their OWN profession.
Sam Nunn still alive?
Can you think of a way to get this to the White House? I mean, Im sure theyve got some folks who check in here, but sending it directly would be neat.
Besides, I think Mr. Rove would like the running commentary on his performance on this weeks thread.
If theres anyone monitoring Tonys account, can you please pass this on to the right party? Its post #147.
And what is sadder, largely educated by Western European and US Univerisites
” Americans put their faith in the men of CNN; men who employ people to choose their neckties, who wear earphones so others can tell them what to say and which way to turn.”
So true. I’m continually amazed that most people don’t recognize the difference of an unscripted, non read response compared to the I can’t talk without my papers in front of me, or someone in my ear coaching me on what to say, how to respond
etc.
If you see this justa any suggestions?
” Hard to believe that Karl Rove never went to college though, he certainly is very polished.”
Seems like it left his mind untarnished, and capable of free thought.
Funny, AB! LOL
And I'll betcha the chosen candidate will get more votes than Bush does, too.
