Here's a novel idea. How about we all decide as a society that we're not going to murder anyone? We don't let family members, government workers, or anyone else decide when and how someone should be murdered. And anyone who breaks that rule is removed from society.
Great, how much brain activity must cease before we say someone had passed away? I have no idea. It has to be a case by case decision made by each family.

Great, how much brain activity must cease before we say someone had passed away? Enough that they actually have passed away, and aren't just disabled to the point of making you uncomfortable.
