We must also look realistically at who our potential adversaries could be in the decades ahead. For example, Communist China—a nation with no respect for human rights, for religious freedom, or for the rule of law—remains both a present and an emerging threat to the United States. Its annual double-digit increases in military spending, its virulent anti-American propaganda, and its aggressive arms acquisitions are all very clear indications that China fully intends to become a superpower—and, when it is able, to seek regional hegemony in Asia and threaten our democratic friends on Taiwan. Moreover, China has for years exported dangerous missile technology to Pakistan—support that, according to the Director of Central Intelligence, continues today unabated. China has also supplied chemical weapons-related equipment and technology to Iran. And earlier this year, U.S. and British war planes had to destroy fiber-optic cables that had been laid by Chinese firms in Iraq, as part of Saddam Hussein's ever-improving air defense infrastructure.

Today, China is a thorn in our side. We must make sure that, as China rises, it does not become a dagger at our throat.

Not the dolt the main stream media made him out to be, is he?

>”Within the next hundred years,” Talbott went on to say, “nationhood as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single global authority.”<

Our leaders are proud of the sovereignty eroding 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement. Now we need to bring on the North America Super Corridor Coalition. Three cheers for the unconstitutional Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.

In order to rush this program through to completion, I sure hope we middle class Americans are smart enough to elect politicians who are strong supporters of the Council on Foreign Relations. Only people who comprehend that the dollar is more worthy than individual liberty understand the goals of the United Nations Charter. These are the people we should hold high with praise.

As we march these United States into the North American Union we’ll be one step closer to eliminating our national borders. Within two generations, the once great American culture will be a forgotten memory.

Our children will be so proud that we robbed them of the chance for freedom and crushed the Republic that so many men fought and died for.

We must be careful that, in our zeal to build the coalition against terrorism, we do not mistakenly turn a blind eye to the true nature of certain regimes whose long-term interests and intentions remain contrary to ours

Good take on things - I wonder if he writes anywhere abut India. The world's largest & fastest growing democracy's interests are strategically very aligned with ours and even Europe's - fighting against a hate-filled Islamist enemy, and in an uncomfortably mixed cooperative-slash-confrontational relationship with both China and Russia because of current geopolitical needs.

Repeal the 1967 UN Outer Space Treaty, allow development in Alaska, annex Mexico, and in the meantime let’s milk the frothing paranoia since we’re obviously not going to allow any resource development anywhere.

This guy perpetuates the same mistakes he seeks to indict. He is taking the Chinese threat too lightly right now. He fails to comprehend their threshold for rolling the dice is far lower than he recognizes...or that their intentions to "go for broke" with at the very least a massive EMP strike here where our Homeland Security Idiots have left us unprepared...and that attack on us at the very start of things is clearly planned...to be done with "proxy use" plausible deniabilty. Hence the buildup of Iran, NK, etc.

Our political cowards will do nothing...and the Chicoms will win. They have already given them a pass on their top-brass meeting five times with Osama Bin Laden to plot against us...or the attack on our surveillance plane over international waters. To say nothing of their trade war and intellectual property theft or massive espionage campaign.
