LOUISVILLE, TN Managers of an apartment complex with a high concentration of Hispanics have told residents that if they are illegal immigrants, they must move out by the end of the month.
This management company and the building owner will not accept or allow any illegal aliens to live in the apartments, reads the opening line of a three-paragraph letter addressed to all tenants of Lakeview Apartments in Louisville.
The letter orders all illegal immigrants to vacate their apartments by the end of August or face the threat of being reported to the proper authorities. You will be arrested and deported, it states.

About time. The manager says it is in order to comply with a company policy that says it is not going to house illegal aliens under any circumstances.

My guess is they’ll get sued. I just hope this sticks, and that more companies and landlords in this country follow these people’s lead.

Here come the lawsuits...
They will be ordered to house them for free. Watch.

But the threat by Meadowland Property Management may not have any legal teeth. Yet, if the owner knowingly allows them to stay he is harboring criminals.

Illegal aliens come in here, could be criminals, etc., have broken the law, have no right in our country whatsoever.
And as soon as someone says they won't rent to them, we all wonder: Can the landlord "get away" with this?
We are so screwed.

They should have reported the illegals to the authorities without a warning.

"My guess is they'll get sued."
I would assume they have conferred with lawyers before taking this action, and believe they are on firm ground.
To: Jim Hill
Yeah, find new homes...in your home countries!

Lawyers are already lining up. No profit in it except name recognition though.

Meadowland Property Management This is probably a CYA, they have probably been renting subsidized housing to illegals and lying on the paper work.

Pardon my ignorance but what’s a “CYA”?

I’ll try to remember that but may not because I have C.R.S. syndrome.

I want to know how much of this ‘sub-prime credit scare’ and the Dow tanking has to do with bad loans to illegals.

Locally, slum lords charge as much for vacancies as those in "better" areas and the inference is LOUD and clear that they will look the other way when you move your 18 newly-arrived "family members" into your tiny one-bedroom hovel.
Meanwhile there is little chance of recovery for such areas, quaintly termed "gentrification," because no one will invest in such a pit!

Boy is the manager here ever going to catch hell by the ACLU and the criminal vulture lawyers, MALDEF, etc. etc.
More power to him!! Courageous. This needs to spread across the land.
