I was listening to the news out of the corner of my ear when I heard FreeRepublic specifically mentioned as a "hate site" about fifteen minutes ago.
Ostensibly the long report was about the Klan using the web to recruit new wackos. Then the focus turned to Casa Maryland, and their director who claimed that calls for his murder had circulated on the internet by anti-immigrant bigots. It was then that the anchor identified FR by name as a hate site.
I never said that FR is a “hate site”. My definition of a “hate site” is a site where hatred and horrible comments are common-place, accepted and encouraged. Can you not see the difference between a “hate site” and a website that does have occasional, hateful comments posted? Some are deleted, others remain. I’m not privvy to the decisions of which ones should be allowed to stand. I don’t think anyone should expect an online forum to never have any hate-filled comments. FR has wackos just like every other online forum. Do you honestly disagree with that?
If there isn't a battle, then why are we even on this thread? BTW, your "up yours" comment was still wrong. I'm too old to wait up for an apology, so, good evening, Jim.
Why are we on this thread tonight? Trolling maybe?
I see the prodding of JR as suicide by cop. Does Chena stand to gain by banning? Journalistically?
JR never said he had disdain for such events. He simply said he does not do them. I don’t know why.
As for live debates, I find that live debates are very informative. Anyone can write down their talking points memos (BOR...har har), but to have to debate their opinions, live, gives the audience a chance to see, hear and determine which person was the most credible, honest, forthright, intelligent, etc.
I was not attempting to be rude. If I wanted to be rude, I could do a far better job of it than suggesting that someone stand up and be heard.
That was what you said in your comment #967. You mentioned me without saying my name. What is that you like to say, Reagan Man? "Zing me, ping me"?
I have never called FR a "hate site". I have said that hateful comments have appeared here. There is a difference. If you can't figure out the difference, that's your problem not mine.
I’ve been a registered member of FR since 2002. Trolling? I save that for salmon.
Txflake, what are you talking about? Color me, confused.
>>>>>I have never called FR a "hate site". I have said that hateful comments have appeared here.
BS! You connect the dots to make your point. You ain't fooling no one.
“Your childish taunts are falling on deaf ears.”
And how exactly would you go about verifying the authenticity of that statement?
“You are wrong as wrong can be. I know exactly what FR is about, or I thought I did.”
That’s funny.
Yes, Kristinn deserved respect from Bill O'Reilly, and he gave it to him.
Not ONE bit, continued to lie and push his ratings-driven agenda caring not one bit for anyone but himself.
Spoke condescendingly to Kristinn, and about FR.
Acted like he was a father and Kristinn and FR were his misbehaving kids needing advice from him.
And his advice was based on lies and preconceived purpose driven misconceptions that he wanted his audience to believe. And you did apparently.
He did not listen to anything Kristinn said to him, and just blew him off.
He is a self-centered bore.
Oh and you don't have a clue about Jim Robinson. Period. You're uninformed statements about him are laughable to anyone that has any understanding at all of his nature and abilities.
Good evening, jedward. Long time, no see. Hope all is well with you and yours. :)
We’re all doing well. I see you’re still starting little mini-fires here on the forum. Why don’t you opus out? You’ve insulted JR more times than any user I’ve seen, including all the banned ones. You’ll never “figure out” FR, and it’s status, as is however you see it, seems to bring much burden upon your mind.
Who would have thought that suggesting that JR set the record straight with BOR, in person, would amount to throwing flames at the man? I speak out when I see unfairness. I speak out when I see discrepancies. It took me years to learn to speak out when I saw, read, or heard something I felt was wrong in this world. Is that something to be feared or shunned? I think not.
Don’t you speak your mind? Doesn’t JR? I think BOR would be squirming in his ego-laden boots tonight if he thought JR would really appear on his show. That’s my opinion, and if that doesn’t suit some folks, I’m so sorry.
Oh, look. It’s you again.
“Dont you speak your mind?”
Not always, no. Even when someone decided not to trust me recently, I bit my tongue and STFU. It still bothers me, but speaking my mind would do incredibly more harm than good, so I silenced myself. For the collective good of many, my silence was the more responsible thing to do. It’s arguable whether it was the right thing to do, but no doubt the most responsible.
Yes, it’s me. What can I help you with?
