I was listening to the news out of the corner of my ear when I heard FreeRepublic specifically mentioned as a "hate site" about fifteen minutes ago.
Ostensibly the long report was about the Klan using the web to recruit new wackos. Then the focus turned to Casa Maryland, and their director who claimed that calls for his murder had circulated on the internet by anti-immigrant bigots. It was then that the anchor identified FR by name as a hate site.
I think we are going to see a perfect storm of groups who for various reasons do not want or desire a forum where people can exchange ideas without “proper supervision”.
The RNC and the left don’t want a FR which can go against their talking points.
The RNC without any contridiction or exposing force would have been able to foist Sen. Mel Martinez on us as whatever talking point they wanted. Exposing the amnesty I (and the upcomming amnesty II) efforts was not part of their talking points.
It is also the reason no money is goig to the RNC like in the past. We KNOW they are not suporting out issues or candidats.
Man, I hate FOX 5.
BTTT!
What about Bill O'reilly? He made the original "FR is a hate site" statement. He claims to be "fair and balanced"? Why hasn't FR been given a chance to defend itself? How come he hasn't had Jim Rob on his show?
No thanks. People can read FR and decide for themselves
IGNORE THE BOR
I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing that you would appear on Bill O’Reilly’s show. I, for one, wouldn’t miss it for the world. Kristinn had the courage to appear on your behalf and I’m sure you are very grateful to him for that. However, as we are often reminded, this is your house, your rules, and your agenda that oversees how your website is run and what posts and/or posters are allowed to remain here.
Don’t let Bill scare you, Jim. IMO, he’s far more conservative than liberal, so you two should already see eye to eye on many issues.
I don’t do TV/radio/movies/public speaking. Period.
Why not?
Doesn’t matter.
With all due respect, I think it does matter. I never depended on others to fight my personal or business battles for me, and can't understand those who would use others to battle for them.
Up yours.
As a 51 year old, Christian woman, I find your response to be highly inappropriate, ungentlemanly, and uncalled for. Why would you take offense to someone encouraging you to speak for yourself when it comes to defending your website (aka, "home") on Bill O'Reilly's show?
We don’t need to defend against O’Reilly. He’s a bald faced liar. The readers can see for themselves.
I strongly doubt that fear has anything to do with JimRob’s decision to not appear on the BOR show.
BOR’s purpose in having JimRob on wouldn’t be to find fact, but to make a case that supports his previous assertions. BOR has demonstrated that he cannot be counted on to treat the truth with respect, which is all the reason any intelligent person would ever need to turn him down.
>>BOR has demonstrated that he cannot be counted on to treat the truth with respect, which is all the reason any intelligent person would ever need to turn him down.<<
I agree 100%. He has shown his lack of respect for his guests on a regular basis. He interrupts them, points his finger at them, accuses them, yells at them, ridicules them. Why would anyone want to be a ‘guest’ on his show?
When one entertains a ‘guest’, they most likely will go out of their way to listen, absorb, politely (yet with knowledge and understanding) respond. Mr. O’Reilly has made it his MO to slap, yell at, ridicule, interrupt and put-down his guests on a regular basis.
Anyone might consider being a ‘guest’ with a polite, open minded, respectful host. That is not Mr. O’Reilly.
Well then, fine. If someone claimed that my “house” allowed hateful comments, and I could prove them wrong, I’d be the first to step up to the microphone. If I couldn’t prove them wrong, I’d probably not speak up and hope the accusations would blow over with none the wiser. :)
IMHO, Bill O’Reilly has spoken the truth many times for those who care to hear the truth. As I’ve said before, I don’t always agree with him, and I do believe he has an ego the size of some other people I’ve met online, but that doesn’t mean someone shouldn’t be strong enough to appear on his show.
He has shown respect on his show for those deserving of respect, IMHO.
