I was listening to the news out of the corner of my ear when I heard FreeRepublic specifically mentioned as a "hate site" about fifteen minutes ago.
Ostensibly the long report was about the Klan using the web to recruit new wackos. Then the focus turned to Casa Maryland, and their director who claimed that calls for his murder had circulated on the internet by anti-immigrant bigots. It was then that the anchor identified FR by name as a hate site.
The whole hate speech phoney diatribe is an excuse to destroy Christianity via homosexual rights.
Look at this Gaystapo salute...
This is coming from the Ruby Julie-Annie campaign, make no mistake about it...
The only way the Left can win is to undermine conservatives in the Republican primary.
No, this is coming from the MSM getting itchy about who is going to be the next Dan Rather. Mr. Rove has some ducky targets lined up, and they know we can’t wait for the ‘go’.
Hmmm. What did FR do to piss off Giuliani?
You haven't been around here very long?
:’) Boo-boo. ;’)
You could be right.
I just like to give folks as much of the benefit of the doubt as I’d like . . . especially someone on the same side of the culture war.
God have mercy on lazy Christian’s souls for allowing so much hideousness without even batting an eye all too often for far too long.
“Well put. Id add my own suspicion that he is only on the air to give conservatives (in the form of alleged conservatives) a bad name with his behavior.”
I was thinking similar. He’s obviously a left leaning progressive liberal dishonestly posing as a para conservative.
I don't believe that... Julie-Annie, like Bloomterd, has made a career out of stabbing the conservatives in the back while wearing a fancy GOP designer label. The RNC hacks in D.C. haven't got a clue.
Nope, only about 9 years. How about you?
No need to be vague if you believe in your cause.
“...especially someone on the same side of the culture war.”
You see, this is where we respectfully diagree. Oreilly is on the side of money. The only culture Oreilly knows is money. He will do anything or say anything, be it true or be it false to that end. He cares least upon whose toes he steps since to him they are mere dirt worms who unwittingly aid and abet his path to fame and fortune. For them he has neither mercy nor gratitude. It’s all about BOR.
Oh DEAR! Found out! Exposed!
Are you the Ranger? Do I have to give up this picnic basket?
Can I blame it on Yogi?
Whatever. Conservatives don’t elect homophiles who speak with a pronounced lisp.
Sorry, but this psychologist just doesn’t read him that way.
He enjoys his status, money and perks. But it’s not what lights his fire.
He really does try . . . given his limitations of perception and bias etc. . . . to watch out for “the folks.”
That’s authentic OReilly. It is born earnestly and seriously out of his childhood. I think he comes acrost MOST authentically when talking about such things—and most humbly.
He doesn’t give a flip about important people—REFRESHINGLY.
1. He’s big—what—6’ 6”?
2. He’s successful. He could retire and feel quite proud of his accomplishments the rest of his life. He knows that. He’s far further than he ever dreamed of being.
3. He’s wealthy—more than he cares about having. Loves spreading it around—SOMEWHAT. Not going to just willy nilly give it away to free-loaders without a reason to believe it will do some lasting honest good.
4. He’s smart and articulate.
5. He cares earnestly about America and our way of life and our historic Judeo/Christian values. He really does. Worth a lot more to him than money.
6. But he knows money is power as is status. He’s not interested in compromising his clout for nothing.
7. I doubt he’d compromise his core values for anything—but certainly not to be PC IN LIBERAL TERMS.
8. He’s one of the few nationally known newscasters, personalities who will admit to being wrong on the air in prime time. In our era of super arrogance, that’s no small thing.
Now, He has bought in to some limited degree to some liberal constructions on reality and I think he’s somewhat blind to his own gullibility on those scores. But it’s far less than folks seem to believe, imho.
I think the whole “SECULAR PROGRESSIVES” label is a crock and he should use “SECULAR REGRESSIVES” as the more accurate term. If I could get his ear for 2 minutes, I’d try and make that case. He might even hear it. I don’t know he’d comply because he has bought in—somewhat—to labels the liberal establishment lays out as “kosher labels that fit our script.”
I fault him for that. That’s counter to his position on the culture war and he should know that.
I still think we need all the help in the culture war we can get—including his—in spite of his infuriating flaws.
And he repeatedly calls himself a 'traditionalist', what the hell is that? I don't think anyone anywhere has picked up using that particular word other than him. LOL! And just how would that be different than a conservative? Sounds like they're one and the same to me.
Jellystone tell everyone, and I’ll be happy.
He does take conservative views, but he’s such a blowhard, and makes such an ass out of himself when challenged, that my guess is, he owes his longevity to (D) partisan shills at the network.
Hey, Jim. You can keep that ol’ corn cob pipe as long as you don’t disclose the location of our secret still.
(BTW, pass the jug - I’m dry as a bone.)
;^D
Anther of your deep-thinking responses. I continue to be amused at the fact that not a single one of these other “majority” of FReepers you say are on your side seem to be willing to write even one post to defend you.
Your condemnation of the three black kids who were murdered in New Jersey because they, as you say, were in the wrong place, is about as hateful as anything that’s ever been posted on FR. The fact of this is that you, personally, put the issue of keeping illegal aliens in the United States ahead of the physical safety and economic security of every American citizen. You put your nation's own children on a lower priority than your personal financial gain. If the BOR clowns were, unlike you, using a living brain in their analysis of FR they would see that your there's nothing that's ever been posted on FR that's more hateful than that.
