I’m listening to MSNBC as I type (tv is behind me) and I heard them say there woud not be another news conference.

Good question, ABC 4 is trying to find that out right now. One official said no on camera but the governor is flying to the scene and he wants face time.

I’ll monitor and advise for another half hour....

ABC 4 just said that the Utah Governor is en route to a Salt Lake City hospital to meet with families and is likely to make a statement. The mine company and MSHA said they will have no further statement tonight.

ABC 4 has video where you can actually hear a crack and thud from tonight fatal bump.

NBC (national) is the main pool for everything on the overnight stuff, but I’m sure everyone is up on this right now.

That was the bump that Terry Wood experienced when he and the other reporters went into the mine a several days ago.

This was supposed to be a pool situation, with a single still and single video camera, and 2 national corrensposdnets. Terry bummed a ride because Channel 4 was designated pool for video, and called it an exclusive, with him on the inside. Highly unethical IMHO.

One victim still critical at Castle View with head injuries but ABC 4 says that person is conscious. (!?)

Well... I watched his video, mostly because it was there.

I'm an engineer, and we don't have any ethics either. I don't feel too bad about it though - my brother's a lawyer.

Yes, it was compelling video. The Ch. 4 photographer who shot is a friend, and he’s good. Terry has nothing to do with it. It was up-linked to everyone as soon as they got out, everyone had the same thing, that’s what a pool feed is.
