That was 150 years ago. Has no bearing on the Mormons of today. Go back in history and look at Israel, the Crusades, the Church of England, etc, etc, etc. How about the Romans and their many gods? Look at the Vikings, look at anything you want. If you are trying to make the Mormons look bad today because of what happened 150 years ago, it won’t pass muster. Kind of ridiculous.

If 150 years ago has no bearing on Mormons of today, then by the same rationalism the Book of Mormon likewise has no bearing on today. Toss it out and get back to the Bible as inspired by God, however if you refuse to shed the BOM, it follows you have to live with the legacy horrible massacre. The irony is that the massacre is fact and the book of mormon is pure fiction.

I'm LDS and I'm gonna have to call you to the floor for this comment. The article is a direct copy past from the church's official website and the poster made no comments about the post, just put it out there for everyone to see.

He isn't doing any more or less to make Mormons look bad or good then the church itself did by posting it on their website today.

The crusades have been demonized for centuries... fact is, the only thing wrong with the crusades is they didn’t whipe out the Muslims when they should have. Please don’t characterise them in the same breath as this massacre.

Had the Crusades been fully successful, muslim Terror in the modern age would not exist.
