“I’d like to hear a recording of this, just to be sure that it’s being reported accurately. Even if the guy actually thinks this, I have a hard time believing that he’d say it.”

Yep, that is what he said in Zapata. We attended a community Border Patrol meeting for the area (which is in the Laredo sector)on August the 7th.

We(Mike and I) thought it a very strange comment to make. And needless to say,it was upsetting.

He (Carrillo) also had the nerve to tell a women that we should be sleeping better in our homes because of the increase in BP agents for that area.

Bunch of Bravo Sierra is what it is.

I begged to differ with Carrillo as did Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez.

Wonder what our gov’t is up to now?

Carillo is a liar unfit for duty and should be investigated for corruption, after removal from his position. The agents under his command deserve far better than this sorry example of "leadership".

From the Border Patrol's own website.

"While the traditional mission of the United States Border Patrol has always been the detection and prevention of the illegal entry of aliens and smuggling of illegal contraband into the United States anywhere other than a designated port-of-entry, the dawn of the age of terrorism within our nation has added a new and high priority mission: to detect and prevent the entry of terrorists and their weapons into the United States."

"The Border Patrol’s mission has increased over the years. Today, the Border Patrol must also operate within the interior of United States — monitoring roads and even some airports where illegal aliens concentrate. In addition, other government agencies have granted the United States Border Patrol certain additional powers to help them protect our borders."

"The function of the United States Border Patrol has been an essential element of our country's security since before our Constitution was even written. On July 4th, 1776 our Founding Fathers declared our country independent from England. It is this act that we celebrate on July 4th of every year. The twenty-seventh reason for our separation from England — as listed in our Declaration of Independence — is the King's refusal to provide the people of America with a secure border."

That last sentence has deja vu all over it...
